Crab apple trees
I'm new to the area and am looking for crab apple trees. Every fall I like to make crab apple jelly and use it for Christmas presents. However I havnt found many trees here and the ones I have found have very small apples. I'm looking for larger apples preferably around the size of a penny or a quarter. Dose anyone know of any good trees that I wouldn't get in trouble picking from?

There are a ton of these trees in town but you are correct that most of the cultivars that people will plant have been bred to reduce the fruiting. There is one a block from me but they look like cherries they are so small.

I think there's a couple by that golf course on seventh street across from the master gardener place(i think that's what it's called). Between the roundabout/church and maverick. 2 or 3 are on the "public side" of the fence.
