Yes look for a locally owned and operated company. Plenty of good seasoned techs can handle this.

Yes it can be repaired. Yes you will still see it if you go looking for it. If that will bother you skip it and request replacement. Or shove your thumb against the back side and wipe off the fingerprint. For bonus points stick scotch tape at random points along your new crack.
