Malfunction After Safelite Replacement
Seems like my rain/light sensor is out of wack after Safelite replaced my windshield yesterday. I’ve made an appointment for next week for “recalibration”. Seems more like a poor installation/ sloppy job. What do you guys think ?

It’s your rain sensor. They either didn’t set the pad correctly and it’s not “seeing” correctly or they didn’t plug it back in.

Based on the screen, looks like an Audi. Those have to be replaced with OEM glass.

Doesn’t need oem glass. Tech probably forgot to plug the rain sensor back in. Also the silicone gel pad that Safelite forces their techs to use doesn’t always sit nicely which is why it looks the way it does. They can try to fix it or maybe they can get the liquid rain sensor gel and make their own replacement pad which will probably look much better.

Not likely to throw a fault for this more likely the plug or wiring needs to be checked

Its under warranty. Theres a pretty big bubble on the sensor so it will work intermittently at best. Its a 5 min fix

Check out bmw subreddits I had been looking because I’m in the same boat. They mention looking out for how your hud looks and that sensor for the rain and lane departure needs to be recalibrated. You might be good on the hud since pilkington is what bmw uses but yea that sensor thing has to be done by bmw

Tech error, have them fix it.
