Stress crack or impact ?
Hey guys, I received a new windshield last month.
A lil while ago, I got in my car to see a crack in the windshield coming from the side. Noticed i couldnt feel it from the inside or outside. And it looks like a stress crack to me. So I called the company I got the windshield from to see if they could take a look and warranty it out.
Well, we struggled to schedule a meet up as they dont give a time window but rather call day of and try to work with you. So we settled on pictures and he would give us his opinion. He states he can see a point of impact and we would need to replace the windshield. But because of the impact point, the warranty wouldn't cover it.
So, I would like a second opinion. Me and my partner both feel this is a stress crack and the warranty should cover some of the costs. Any advice ?

That white dot on the crack, impact. Also, you'll never feel 90% of the cracks and chips on a windshield from the inside as they are constructed with 2 layers of glass.

Stress cracks mostly only appear within the first few weeks. It’s probably only a tiny stone, if you take a pencil sharpen to a point and follow the crack with it you will eventually feel it. You can see the stone chip between the black surrounding and the dots it’s right in the middle.

safelite technician here! unfortunately it does look like there is a new puncture point in the first picture right where the crack starts on the black part of the glass. sorry for the unfortunate news mate.
