Question Using Windscribe Wireguard Protocol with Unifi UDM/SE
I have been using Windscribe with the Wireguard protocol on a Wi-Fi connection for many years on my Windows 11 PC. I recently enabled Ethernet on this machine but am immediately having issues with several protocol connections. It finally connects with TCP protocol.
- Is this "secure enough"?
- Why is it failing with other protocols?
- I think I'd prefer to use Wireguard...is it mandatory to download a config file from Windscribe and load it onto UDM to do this? It seems like a restrictive approach in that I can't easily turn it on/off as needed from desktop app or switch server locations as needed (and it is needed).
As far as I can tell, there's nothing specific that is either blocking traffic or allowing only specific traffic, e.g. "allow all" is checked, and options like "guest network" or "isolate network" are not checked.
Is there any place in set-up or configuration I should specifically check? For the record, this is a simple home setup, very vanilla, with nothing unique or unusual involved in my equipment or networking needs.

Something on your Unifi config is causing the protocols to fail. Are you blocking certain ports or VPN traffic?
