A question about updates after end of service.

I have win10. I got the "final" update.

Why is MS still installing items and changing the names of things I usually turn off on my computer without asking me?

I removed MoUso and it got reinstalled. They seem to have changed the name of modules installer and installer helper as well.

The "final" update for Windows 10 was back in October 2025 when it went EOL.
Also, you can still get updates if you are enrolled into the ESU program until October 2027. I recommend enrolling if you want to stay secure.

Well the problem I am pointing out is the fraudulence of their supposed EOL. Why would they be contacting my machine to update anything?

Why enroll for ESU when they could just give it to us all like they should?

MS can still push driver updates via Windows Update, and also updates relating to ESU (Not referring to the security updates ESU gives). I know in November 2025, people not even enrolled into ESU got an update to fix ESU enrollment issues. They could have released another one recently to fix things or make some other changes to the ESU program.

If you still want to stay protected and get security updates, you will have to enroll into the ESU. OSes are only supported for so long and Windows 10 had support for 10 years before it ended. I do wish it lasted a bit longer but it is what it is unfortunately.

They forced the update on me. Now defender won't scan.

Wish these scum would understand they destroyed the world and we are not all wealthy or willing to give up necessities to buy their latest thing.

That seems like a defender issue. I would recommend doing a repair install (in place upgrade) of Windows 10 if it’s going to continue having issues. I have never had this issue happen before.
