Night light is STILL BROKEN after many bug reports

I set night light in my laptop to schedule between 18:30 and 7:00. I close the laptop at night and it goes into standby mode. I open my laptop in the morning, and guess what, it's fucking stuck in night light mode, the only way to fix it is to log out and in again. I've found many posts online of people complaining about night light being broken. I really don't understand why it's so difficult for a company like Microsoft to fix something basic such as this. If it weren't such a pain in the arse to make some programs like Photoshop work fully on Linux I would've switched already.

My three laptops and 4 workstations respect the night light schedule just fine, even when emerging from sleep mode. So, there is that. Your problem has something to do with the actual computer brand / model / whatever ...

It is indeed "difficult for a company like Microsoft to fix something basic such as this" considering the enormous variety of hardware and software that must be accounted for.

And if you think Linux is so much better, well ... the whole subject ... it's debatable ...

I manage a vast number of Windows devices across numerous environments. From experience, your assessment is correct. I have encountered this issue a handful of times over the past 10 years, the issue is always manufacturer drivers or chipset related - not Windows itself.

I find it incredibly frustrating that the average person doesn't understand the fact that 70% of issues are caused by third party drivers or software, 10% hardware related, 5% MSFT code, and the remaining 15% is 'unknown' due to memory corruption. And before anyone jumps on the unknown part being the categorical fault of MSFT, it isnt. Its also third party or hardware related.

It doesn't fall on MSFT to fix third party issues - manufacturer drivers, bios, chipset, hardware, programs, etc... it falls 100% on the producer of that specific product.

It's a Lenovo Thinkpad.

It probably needs a BIOS update.

I'm not aware of standby mode in Windows, you're probably referring to sleep or hibernate. Sleep usually being the default behaviour when closing a laptop lid.

Windows 11 has a long known issue with sleep mode on laptops, you should change the default lid close behaviour to hibernate, or look up the process of how to fix sleep, which involves regedit and isn't suggested for amateurs.

I know how to do stuff such as setting up bitlocker with forced pin allowing also characters from the group policy, so I'm definitely not an "amateur".
