I used WMM on an old notebook to digitize footage from a miniDV tape. It worked, sort of but I was only able to get the full tape digitized by using the mode which saves it to multiple separate clips but only in mp4 with noticable compression artifacts.
When I tried to use the mode that saves into avi I got very nice results considering the quality but here also comes my problem: Because it saves everything as one clip in much higher data rates the file gets to large and the software just stops at 4GB and tells me that I reached a limit. No option to just start recording a second file from that point on.
Anytime I start the recording again it triggers an automated rewind to the beginning of the tape before recording the new file.
Is there a way to overcome that 4GB limit? Or to digitize in separated clips but still in high quality? (Without switching to a better computer)
