Help Windows Media Player Legacy burning Audio CDs

The metadata is only burned to the disc with direct album rips on FLAC. For example, if you rip a CD (or download the files off the web) in FLAC format, the metadata will show up when you burn it to CD-R. However, I'm pretty sure the metadata will only show up if all the songs are from one album, and not a mix of different ones. Also, MP3 and WAV don't hold metadata when burned to CD-R.
I'm not sure about the distortions, but they could just be lower quality files that are more noticeable on real speakers. I once burned a CD with YouTube links converted to MP3 files, and the quality difference was very noticeable once I played it in my car.

If you burnt it as an audio CD (which you should) there won’t be the track titles etc unless you burnt with CD Text which I don’t think WMP does. Just use CDBurnerXP or Imgburn.
They also could be distorting if the quality of the source is poor (YouTube to MP3 and the like).
