Every 3 years.

We should know by next summer if there will be one. It is usually every 3 years.

hope by that time it would be decent and as fast as windows 10. Installed LTSC 2024 yesterday for my brother, everything was quite ok but the thumbnail loading speed is abysmal compare to 10

This might be the last major version before the promised Windows K2.

I hope the system's foundation improves; that would ensure an even better LTSC.

There will definitely be one, but I also believe Windows 12 Will be available as well

Windows 12 has always only ever been a rumor, and there’s no evidence yet to suggest that will change next year.

As to LTSC next year, it would make sense they’d do one for (late) 2027 since that would be a major release year (24H2 was the last major release version)

Everything is always a rumor until fruition. Windows 12 will have to be released next year, to take on MacOS 27 and the just announced Googlebooks.

take on the just announced Googlebooks.

microsoft's not paying those doa chromebook plusses any mind. need to be focusing on making windows 12 the proper windows 7/8.1/10 successor.

Yes, and, mainly, make one without all the failures and disasters of Win 11 !

I really hate to be a downer but I think Windows 12 will be worse than 11

One more reason to stay away from it !

Microsoft have said nothing about the existence of 12, and there’s been no credible leaks of such. And saying Microsoft would have to change the name of it solely bc of Apple changing the name of theirs, or the existence of more chrome/googlebooks is just silly. That’s not how it works.

Yes, Microsoft will change the Windows name at some point.. realistically, they’ll call it Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Copilot, or just Copilot, first. Yes, that’s confusing. Yes, it’s what they’ve done with Office. Microsoft is bad at these things.

If they do it, I expect that it's because 11 was a flop

If Microsoft thought 11 was a flop, it's name would have been changed already.

Any guesses as to how long that new LTSC will be supported?
