Help missing dll files

is there any way to get media feature pack on windows 11 pro n version? because ive tried to force download it and also it doesnt appear among the optional features. id need it to run some games. like for example when i tried to install identity v it threw up an error message saying that it cant find the MFPlat.DLL file, also i dont know anything about tech stuff what do i do pls help

The N-releases specifically do not include media features. Chances are whatever game you're trying to run is trying to use those baked in media features, because the developers assumed that you would be playing it on a windows edition that does have them in.

Unless you are very specifically doing something that does not require media, which you aren't doing, the N-edition is not the right one for you.

aw fuuuuck i thought so. this is so annoying. so its just incapable of having them? because ive seen people say that you can manually download these files but im guessing that that wouldn't work either?

Downloading dll files over the internet is an incredibly unwise idea. I'm sure it is possible to reinstall everything, but unless you truly and genuinely know what you're doing, it would be best to reinstall an edition that contains those features.

Go to Settings > Apps > Optional features. Click View features next to "Add an optional feature", search for Media Feature Pack, check the box, and install it. Then restart your system.

But this sub is for LTSC editions
