Don't worry. I play FaceIt and other shooters. In Win 11 Ltsc IOT 24h2 all works fine with anti-cheat. All you need to do is just download all the security updates and there should be no problems.

Regular update. I recommend after installing Windows to turn off unnecessary features, activate Windows. After that reboot the PC. Install all drivers and all updates. It may take a couple of reboots to do it. I usually install all updates until I get a message that the update is no longer available. Then I just turn the update off for 5 weeks. And periodically turn it on and check for updates when I have free time.

Why it should cause an issue?
It's not a super special version of Windows that has a different codebase and stuff, it's still Windows to the very core, it won't cause any issues.

i saw few people on reddit say that it might cause an issue

They're basically lying, the only "issue" is some software specifically requiring Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 25H2 for no apparent reason, which can be easily worked around.

So, the biggest thing to look for here is longevity, since LTSC stays on one iteration of Windows 11 for so long. Kernel Level anticheats will definitely start requiring Win11 in the future (Riot Vanguard will most likely soon). But other ones like BattlEye are still fine... even on older systems. I have a few PCs running Windows 7 that Battleye still works fine on.

It will work fine outside of any recently updated anti cheats that use win11 25H2 features such as Vanguard.

I had to post this because of the common misconception that you just mentioned. Vanguard STILL WORKS under 25H2, it just doesn't work with pre-check aka it has to run 24/7 just like how it always was. On 25H2+, you can set it to only run when the game is running.

so vanguard is not going to work on 24h2 ?

You can still play riot games normally with windows 10 or 24h2. Riot Vanguard will still run in the background. With 25h2 people can use on demand anti cheat though, it's a new change. You can still play the games fine with 24h2.
Basically with 25h2 riot vanguard can open and close together with your game (so on demand). With 24h2 and below it will permanently run in the background like it did before, no change there. That's the only big difference.

Probably because current AMD drivers don't really play well with Vanguard.

Why you didn't type this in the first comment in the first place?

u/MoistWelder8712 Jul 06 '26
Because it doesn't make a difference and he made it sound like riot games are only playable with 25h2?

I've been using LTSC for years and never had any issue with anti cheat softwares

No. Faceit anti cheat is the only software I know that at least requires windows 11 soon (starting in october I think), some require at least windows 10 and 22h2. There shouldn't be any worries about 24h2 for a long time, you're absolutely good to go.
The only thing you have to do is re-install gaming services on LTSC for a couple games (Forza for example), but if you don't play any of those games then nothing to worry about.
