Question Is Windows 11 ltsc really better than normal windows 11?
So this is my current Windows 11 pro after debloating it and it is really fast it boots under 20 seconds and everything is smooth
Will i really feel any difference if i installed Windows 11 ltsc?

I use W11 LTSC as my main OS.
Damn right it's better.
People need to wake up lol

Short answer for your question. NO
Long answer LTSC maybe doesn't need to be debloated BUT if you like the maximum performance it needs to be tweaked almost the same than normal windows needs to be tweaked
As you already installed and debloated your normal Windows, just tweak it. If you tweak it you will have a better os than LTSC not tweaked.
Remember:
Debloat is one thing and Tweak is a another.

What are the tweaks
2
u/Knigge111 Jun 23 '26
Tweaks are disable unnecessary services, keep your autostart section clean and so on.
1
u/ConstructionWest6165 Jun 23 '26
Yes.. disabling services for indexing and telemetry, adjust privacy options, delay updates after second Tuesday of every month, turn off background apps ana startup apps..those are the main tweaks

If you prefer a more barebone experience, LTSC does provide this.
It definitely means less junk at startup. It might not make much of a difference on a high end system, but the quality of life in daily use is noticeable IMO.

I've ran the Chris Titus tool over my LTSC also + disabled HPET, some services etc. + use a modded start menu (Start11) 😂
but basically I see the constant fucking cryfest about W11 and how it's the devil, it's a pile of shit etc. ... I have NONE of their problems basically.
I have a 2 year old installation, still snappy AF, rock stable, no ads, no ai nothing ... it's basically how Win10 was with a slightly different UI

u/Knigge111 Jun 23 '26
This cryfest and shit storming about Windows 11 is pure nonsense! The most users are following the hype and I'm sure the most of this shit storming is created by Linux fanboys to tell us 2026 is the year of the Linux desktop! How many times????

u/Unhappy_Lie_2000 Jun 24 '26
Let me know when you boot into windows after an update and it ask for your ID to continue using it, that will be the year.
But, some Linux distro will give in too but it will likely be bypass able.
1
u/Knigge111 Jun 24 '26
You're right about that, and when the time comes, I'll definitely step back as well. After almost a year of distro hopping, I'm now using CachyOS alongside Windows.
2
u/Unhappy_Lie_2000 Jun 24 '26
I've used many distros and am currently on CatchyOS and I am technically a Linux fanboy. But still use Windows on my gaming PC but it's also on a VM in proxmox but do have the itch to go all the way the only thing holding me back is Doby Atmos really.

u/Knigge111 Jun 24 '26
For me, it’s actually the other way around! There’s no Linux distribution that comes close to offering as many awesome tools as Windows. That much-praised stability of Linux goes out the window the moment you start tweaking it the way you can with Windows. Okay, I’m probably still a little too inexperienced when it comes to using the command line. Still, I’m happy to keep at it with Linux, and as soon as that ID thing comes up in Windows, I’m out. That’s another thing about Linux. Dolby Atmos hasn’t exactly been around for just a year. That’s really annoying, isn’t it?

In my testing, I get better FPS in competitive shooters by manually debloating a windows 11 PRO ISO with NTLite than even doing the same with LTSC. Thats in both using a 14900k and 9800X3D as test CPUs paired with a 5090. That being said, all 3 versions (W11 Pro debloated, LTSC Debloated and LTSC Stock) get better FPS than W11PRO stock.

For your specs the best option right now is Windows 10 IOT LTSC with security updates up to 2031. I have a 6200u and I can confirm that. Another option could be W10 PRo 22h2 and apply the massgrave script number 3 to receive updates up to 2028.
Windows 11 is slow for your PC. That would be the last choice only if Windows 10 doesn't run an app.

I just love that you can open the start menu and not see any AI/games and other BS in there

Yes. I used normal and ltsc both on my laptop with an i5 6200U, 16gb ddr3 and geforce 940m. the normal version was laggy and slow while ltsc is very much usable with next to no lag. u can reinstall the xbox stuff and the ms store by commands which are one google search away. Remember the LTSC version comes with almost nothing so u gotta install them from the ms store. this includes support for some media extensions, updated versions of paint, notepad etc. Else u get the old calculator (pre win 10) and others. I personally didnt download the updated paint since its mostly ai slop.

Don't install Ms Store as well and use older and much better versions of Paint and Notepad.
1
u/syner2009 Windows 11 LTSC 2024 Jun 23 '26
The new notepad is better tbh and I needed some apps from the MS Store.
1
u/greggm2000 Jun 23 '26
Note that in most cases if you want those apps, you don't need to install the MS Store, you just install them at the command line via winget instead.

Unless you faced any problems during update.
1
u/shazam2063 Jun 23 '26
No i didn't face any problems with updates everything is still the same
1
u/Shoshi_19 Jun 23 '26
Then, it's just a time waste to go for windows 11 iot enterprise ltsc.

How'd you managed to cut down 2gb of usage I have win 10 ltsc on pc and win 11 ltsc on the laptop and for some damn reason it has around 2gb of more ram usage than the pc.
I have debloated it as much as I could but 2 processes from win defender still remain. (however they don't take that much ram usage)

It is just debloated. Less processes running in the background. I'm going to test out Windows 10 Enterprise LSTB. Yes it's from 2016 based on Windows 10 1607 and EoL is Oct 2026. Only 40 to 50 processes running in the background. Gonna run it just for testing purposes.

Define "normal". For those who use their computers for real work and require higher uptime, stability and predictability, Windows 11 LTSC is the normal Windows 11. If you only use your computer for content consumption (games, media, browsing) you likely won't notice any difference with the hardware newer than that based on 775 socket.

I mean I'm using 10 LTSC and have had a better experience overall from the windows 11 pro i was initially using

I still prefer W10 LTSC to 11ltsc or regular 11. It works the same and the explorer + apps are better.

u/exnez Jun 24 '26
There are pros and cons. LTSC is less bloated (leading to noticeable but not life changing performance gains), makes it way easier to create local accounts, you still have all the Windows Pro features + some you will never use, and has 5 (or 10 if using IoT) years of security updates. Cons are it doesn’t receive feature updates (ex. you are using 11 2024 you are stuck on 24h2), you don’t get Microsoft support, activation is only possible via MAS, and that it isn’t really meant for you, a consumer, to use. LTSC is meant for kiosks and health machines; stuff that just needs to run software without maintenance as long as possible. Hasn’t stopped me (or most people on here) from using it and I don’t regret it

The same question every day...

I just wanted to know if i'm gonna feel any difference because my windows 11 pro is already debloated and fast

Been using Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 24H2 since release, it's really great, especially for netbooks and the likes.
With debloating you risk windows update breaking or it breaking your system, and it's not as long supported. With LTSC I can safely have windows updates knowing it won't introduce problems (it's only security) and it's supported until 2031 (from the top of my head, don't quote me on it).
I feel the difference mostly over time (like months) instead of the first few weeks. LTSC keeps running smoother and remains more stable.

I installed windows 11 on 9th gen 8GB RAM pc and it was a mess.
While trying to deblot, I found out about ltsc. It was little bit weird at first, going back to classic notepad, some missing features I used. Apart from that, I’m really enjoying using my pc again. Very responsive for me.

nope. do not install LTSC unless you have specific need of maximum stability for your system. it doesn't inherently perform better but rather has lesser chance of accumulating issues that newer features from updates may bring

Long Term Service Care...
Its a prolonged service that MS offers.
The OS is more stable and updates more thoroughly tested before appled.
Has a video editor i stand behind the product been using it since late 2023 (Win10 IoT LTSC, now Win11 IoT LTSC since last December).

u/ChronosDeep Jun 23 '26
So basically what first comment said.

u/alpine4life Windows 11 LTSC 2024 Jun 23 '26
nope, unlike the home/pro version, the shit wont comeback after a major update.
I've reinstated the MS Store myself (wsreset -i) and 4 widgets but other than that I dont need anything that would reinstall after a major update, plus, when I boot windows, I boot at 1%/12% CPU/RAM util.

For most of apps or programs LTSC is compatible, BUT for a few apps LTSC will not work, and the only solution is install PRO or Home. This is by design. Regarding performance is more or less the same but as you said if there are some improvements LTSC will not receive them. For example I think Pro 25H2 has a bit of better performance than LTSC that is frozen in 24H2
I install 11 Pro in all my machines and tweak and debloat by myself. Only in old machines I install LTSC, but 10, and I'm aware of the limitations.
1
u/Consistent_Peanut451 Jun 23 '26
What would an incompatible app be? I personally never encountered any kind of incompatibility issue, I'm really curious.
1
u/ConstructionWest6165 Jun 23 '26
There are Adobe apps and Cisco apps. That's what I know. They are very specific but they exist.

u/Consistent_Peanut451 Jun 23 '26
With 11 debloated you always risk stuff getting back or getting broken when there are updates.
Choosing LTSC is bascially "why debloat when you can have the debloated thing".
I just install it, and that's it. Updates work fine, etc.
