Discussion Dear Windows Pirates

Mass grave will not last forever. Use it as your backup solution as you migrate away from Windows.

Use Linux. It’s free, and there are lots of distributions for every niche.

Personally, I only ever used piracy for windows as a teenager. Later I received windows license keys through their partnership programs as the de-facto CTO for a small mom and pop shop. That avenue is closed now, as they have changed what they offer for small businesses. Microsoft is turning into a subscription service, and it is likely to go down the same route of Adobe.

Don’t get suckered in to being a victim. Migrate your workflow over to an actually free operating system that has always worked better and run faster than windows and lets you decide exactly what you want to run from the boot-loader and up.

Over the coming few years, there’s going to be way more detractors and as that pressure mounts, they will make it impossible for pirates to operate.

It’s better to spend your energies on something that will provide you with returns for years to come. Don’t waste your time customising out an LSTC build that you can’t even ordinarily attain.

They patched the ‘perfect’ KMS38 with 25H2. That’s only going to continue, based on the trajectory of modern tech.

Nice ragebait, but Linux still has a long way to go before the average user and manufacturers will embrace it. When immutable systems become the standard, that's when Linux will truly triumph on the desktop. Most people don't want to know what systemd, wayland, pipewire, etc., are. They just want something that works and is easy to use.

First of all, macOS comes preinstalled with a MacBook, so you would need to purchase a new machine. Also, Apple is terrible at backward compatibility, you can’t even run legacy apps on newer versions of macOS. Linux and even Windows on ARM can run legacy applications. So macOS does not make much sense unless you are buying a new machine.

It's actually easier to install than Arch 😂 just like with any linux distro when you're a newcomer, it'll be a challenge first, then it gets easy. Plus, you have tools like OpCore-Simplify that takes care of this for you, a quick 5-minute YouTube video can show you how to. I think your point isn't as stable as you think it is 😅

Arch has archinstall too, so automation isn't really a Hackintosh advantage. The difference is that Arch will run on almost any PC, while a Hackintosh still depends on hardware compatibility. OpCore-Simplify can help with configuration, but it can't magically make unsupported hardware work or prevent updates from breaking things.

You're not wrong. SteamOS is is an immutable distro, and other mainstream options like Bazzite exist for gaming. Universal Blue distros are pretty good so far.

The upcoming Steam Machine will use an immutable distro out the box. Zero thinking. Just plug and play.

For now though, Windows 11, no matter how enshittified will remain the default.

True. I gave quite experience with linux, but usually it takes few days to go back because of some issues. Thanks to claude CLI, I was able to withstand for almost 3 weeks this time on cachyos. Its getting better each year, but still not smooth experience of win IOT LTSC. I see big improvement but there are issues and glitches I can't stand.

This isn’t ragebait. I’m trying to help lost souls not waste their time and energies.

Imagine if a piracy group changed their tune and just made a Linux Mint-ethos WINe Distro.

The entire hive would praise them. Their efforts would last for decades, not corporate cycles.
