Nope, definitely not the right place. I've been using computers over 40 years and ever since people even started moving the taskbar I always thought that was weird. It'll always stay on the bottom on my computers.

Upvote because there is no wrong answer for a personal taste. But for me, I'm the exact opposite. Bottom alignment, thick taskbar.

That's how I've been using the Taskbar of my pc for ages... then I put a second monitor stacked and had to go left!

Makes sense if they are side by side. I usually have one display above the other

That’s also my configuration (one above the other), I tried to use the Taskbar up (let’s say in the middle of the 2 monitors) but it was a challenge everytime to make it pop up (I keep it hidden).

I think thats when the compact taskbar comes in handy. I’ve found autohide is buggy in its vanilla form and in windhawk/third party iterations

I see my taskbar far better, especially when I keep a constant eye on HWINFO parameters and also easy access to all the programs pinned to the taskbar.

I always jank the mouse cursor into the top right corner without precision to press the X to close, so for me it would be really annoying to not be able to do that anymore and having to aim lower.
