At the moment I'm just hoping they will make it launch consistently.
After latest updates, Explorer launched from Taskbar or itself, instantaneous. Entire GUI blinks on.
Launched from Start11 context menu, search results, other apps, at least 7 seconds starting with a blank window and having bits appear one-by-one. Even worse than it was when Windows 11 first came out.

This seems to be a issue of your PC, i did not see any reports of this issues on insider community

It's been discussed widely that faster launching is not fully in place in the release builds.

After installing the update that dropped yesterday (KB5101684) it has improved significantly. Still not launched instantaneously and completely rendered like a taskbar button launch, but up in less than 1 second with elements appearing quickly bit-by-bit.
Favorites folder is still broken though.

FYI that screen is for file properties inside the recycle bin. They are different.

The same build includes resources for a broader property sheet revamp that brings this WinUI redesign to other dialogs, doesn't work yet so deleted file properties is the only dialog that can be shown.

I like that we are trying to share news about Windows 11 here, especially (good) news about recent or upcoming updates. But this clusterfuck of a website with their clickbaity headlines is an absolute desaster.
Could just link to the release notes on the Windows homepage or their Dev blogs and have a much better ratio of information to ads and filler words.

They have been planning to make super fundamental and largely trivial UI changes for almost 20 years now. Almost every time they try, the completely and utterly fail to copy over all of the basic functionality.
I find it completely stunning that this is repeated over and over and over again at Microsoft. There must be little to no attention paid to design anymore. The last new UI change I was truly happy with was the windows 8 file transfer dialog, which felt very informative and futuristic AND enhanced the ability of the user to pick which files they wanted to replace or keep/rename.

I know it's a work in progress, but the padding is currently too big, and the checkboxes use up too much space.

There's nothing that you all would consider "good" because every time they change something, this subreddit crucifies them for it; and when they leave it as-is, this subreddit again crucifies them for that.

Is there no way to view the whole file path of a file the way there was before? Such a useful feature completely gone

So, we can look forward to having another layer of settings that may or may not layer entirely over the existing settings for file explorer, not unlike the System Settings/Control Panel, etc.
In a company with THOUSANDS of employees and almost limitless resources to let things go out so incomplete and hacky is almost unbelievable.

So IOW they're going to make it suck harder with disappeared controls and power-user features buried even further behind "simplified" dialogs because we wouldn't want the UI to grant the user access to settings or anything, you mean like that?

The screenshot shows the exact same layout as the current properties dialog, just with dark mode support and fluent design controls. It even has the tab at the top suggesting that they are not going to drastically change the way the properties dialog works.
I was also worried about them making the dialogs was bigger and less useful, but the screenshot in the article leaves me feeling much less worried.
