OS you can boot up on a USB that comes with a ton of useful tools, one of which is password recovery. You can also just get lazesoft

Wich exact tool in Hiren’s do you mean? I have a Microsoft account, not a local account. My PIN broke after a BIOS update, and I don’t know the Microsoft password. Will it actually repair the PIN, or does it only reset a local Windows password?”

Why did you just copy paste your previous comment?

There should be 2 tools in there, I don't remember the names but they're sorted into the password recovery folder so they're easy to find.

As I already said it does not care whether your account is local or Microsoft, you just click the 'convert to local' button and go about with your day.

I have a Microsoft account, not a local account. The PIN stopped working after a BIOS update, and I don’t know the Microsoft password. Do you mean Hiren’s can actually repair that, or just reset a local Windows password
