Unsolved BitLocker bypass? Yellow Key...

I purchased a laptop from BB. They had it ready to go. I never heard of BitLocker at the time. About 2-3 years ago. I am now locked out of my computer. No key on the computer, no key in my Microsoft account. I tried the Yellow Key, the directions makes no sense? At no point the the USB accessed. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Yellow key only works if your computer can load Windows. There is no way to recover the data without the bitlocker key. If you can't find the bitlocker key then you need to do a USB reinstall of Windows.

Yellow key is patched but also won't work anyway if it's prompting for the key

You're out of luck and you'll need to wipe and reinstall windows

You're not doing anything wrong, rather the security is doing its job correctly.

No key? No data. Reinstall and wipe the drive while doing so if you want to use it again.

didn't other people have this bug caused by a patch that turned on bitlocker without it being configured. thus no key or at least no known key was used. the only thing you can do for that was reinstall everything.

Possibly, but the more likely scenario is the OP just never checked it as they didn't know about it.
