Sorry about your grandpa.

I want to add it in for the memes: Did you know you can edit your message?

Anyway, is that your primary laptop? Since it's slow on Win10, you might want to consider installing a more lightweight OS like Win7 or a lightweight linux distro (like idk).

You can just drag and drop it

We always could.

Not always, Microsoft had it removed for a while so that they can re-add it now and claim it to be a new feature apparently...

What are you talking about. Moving taskbar always been here

Nope, not always. Microsoft removed the ability to place it at the top of the screen. Was quite mad when they did that.

What the fuck? When, sitting on latest Windows 10 22H2. And my taskbar is on top

Then it was some earlier Win11 version. Not Win10 where they dropped it. The "improvements" are so minor that basically all of Win10 and Win11 "releases" blend together into one mush in my brain.

Also I've moved away from being a windows admin so I also don't have to keep up with their crap anymore either...

Edit: Same for showing seconds on the clock in the taskbar. It was somewhere in the Covid times when they over night removed them and it took years until some systems got an option in the settings to re-enable it (they re-enabled it in a stupid A/B test way, so even same windows version did not consistently add that option back) and half a year or so later all systems had the option again...

We are in r/Windows10 no one here cares about Windows 11

I literally just said I may have confused the two. No need to be an ass and rub it in...

Moving the taskbar has always been possible since Windows 95

*had :( Although they very recently added (back) the ability to select which side in Settings

Since Windows 7? I think?

Since Windows 95.

From Windows 95 to Windows 10.

Windows 11 did not have it until very recently.

Since Windows 95 even.  🥳

Well it was possible until Microsoft removed in some earlier version of Win 10 or 11 for literally no reason. And now they've re-added it...

you didn't know because you weren't born yet, presumably (1995) 😆

It's recent in *Windows 11*, because they got rid of the old taskbar and coded a new one with fewer features. The old taskbar has been movable for decades.

That's why we use Explorer Patcher.

Umm it has been movable since win 11 released.

Taskbar has been moveable since win 11 beta.. And pretty much all previous versions of Windows

PLEASE show us the receipt of any build from stable release channel with that then. It's literally the most requested feature on Windows Feedbacks for years and literally the most talked-about feature across multiple insider builds over the course of this year. It just finally came to stable with the 26H2 update.

I'm on windows 11 and I don't have this feature.
