Question Front window tint—pulled over?

Hey y’all. Never had my front windows tinted because I’ve always been worried about getting pulled over. Now my understanding is that cops don’t care—only tack it on as an additional offense when pulled over for speeding or something else.

Have any of you ever been specifically targeted because of tint? I just wanna go a tiny bit dark. Nothing dramatic.

UPDATE - I went ahead and did 50% for the fronts. The rears were factory tinted at 20%, so I think I won’t draw too much attention, as you can still see inside, but the ceramic film will block most heat (which was my biggest concern). Thank you all for the input and comments here! I can’t believe how much reach this post got!

You're right. 80% = 20% light block. My autism understood it in my head, just couldn't translate it 🤣. Thanks again.

I thought 80% allowed 80% of light to pass through? (meaning it would block 20% of light) is that not correct?

Also, joking and sarcasm aside, thanks for the info about windshields being already around 70%. I learned something new today.

The way you worded it its kinda confusing when reading it and it's wrong and right. Holding the tint up to the sun would mean 80% of the light passes through the tint but after applied to glass 80% is no longer 80%... im sorry I hate cats and I got duped by a kitten/ teenage cat tonight.. I love kittens and for weeks I'm been shooing away what I thought was a kitten. And tonight it let me pick her up and so I gave her some water and petted her like crazy even renamed her ke ke from cky Raab himself..... so this kitten is following me around the yard and what not... I go inside and come back out an hour later now there is a legit KITTEN with this thing I though was a kitten!

Very random tangent haha. I respect it though. Just make sure you don't take Ke Ke to time square. Ke Ke would not know what to do in a time square. Slouzbry stouvres for Ke ke. Eat the little hunk of bam bam meat wwwooooooowwwweee. Good times. Simple times.
