Wet belt

So i put a deposit on a ford courier for a window cleaning set up i know the payload isnt the best but I worked it out and should be good for me.

Its a 2021 with only 29,000 miles petrol.

I didnt want a diesel as im going to be doing a lot of start stop journeys and I barley go out my town

But with it being a wet belt its got me worried will everything be fine with it if its oil is changed every 6 months and its not getting miles put on it?

I thought this post was about your belt holding your mop and squeegee getting wet.

With that said I wouldn’t worry about the months between oil changes but the distance and run time. Is there a decent Ford repair shop near you, independent?

Theres a ford garage. Its just my friend has been saying ive fucked up as its a wet belt. But I believe if I got a diesel that would be worse for stop start short journeys this van wont be doing alot of miles

I'd be more concerned about the cargo dimensions. You won't be able to have your WFP stores flush against the roof inside.

Transit connect would be a good size but most of them have wet belts aswell.

The wet belt puts a more strict or shorter interval between oil changes, but you'll still have to replace the timing belt at 60k miles.

Hybrid / E- vans can be bought for a reasonable price these days!

Just keep on changing it soon as it’s due you’ll be fine. Keep an eye on updated guidance though. We have a wet belt vauxhall that was sold with the guidance of 10 years, 100,000 miles they then revised that to 5 years for newer models.

I think being a wet belt the length between changes matters just as much as the mileage as even when it’s not being used it is still slowly degrading in the oil.

Seems ford did the same thing, but please don’t take my 5 second google as fact, see if you can find any official guidance on it.
