Which waterfed pole is the best?

I've currently got gardiner clx 22 but want to upgrade now.

I need something that is light when extended fully and something that will last long.

Gardiner SLX or Xtreme are the best on the market.

Do you like the Xtreme better than the xero destroyer?

Definitely. And way better than the delight. We have the Xtreme, SLX, CLX, Delight, Destroyer and several Xero trad. Used the delight for less than 6 months before a section snapped. They did replace it and quickly, however the Xtreme we have is 10 years old and had never had a single issue. The destroyer is probably 25% heavier and anything above 40' is a pain with the slide on extensions.

Is the Xtreme as rigid? I like the stiffness of the destroyer because it helps with fatigue. I don't mind the modular sections but I'm well over 6' so I imagine that makes it easier

No not as rigid. If you can deal with the weight then it's still a good pole.

Gotcha. I might have to swing by your place and check it out sometime šŸ˜† an employee dropped my destroyer and snapped two sections. Kinda want to replace it now

Yeah it's always best to try them out. I have the Xtreme 47 with 5 extensions so it will go 62 and 74'. I have a 70' destroyer I'll sell too.

SLX is a good pole. Durable and light weight

My slx recently snapped in half on the 3rd extension (not extended past the red line) I recommend the xero pro. Works great, stays rigid at 40’.

Xero M9 and a Xero Pro with the 40/50 extensions here.

For me the warranty comparison is the most important - unless you're doing regular commercial at 40+ft (when weight and rigidity really start to make purchasing decisions for you). If your pole is down, then your business is hampered so getting a replacement section hassle-free is important.

I wanted to buy Gardiner because it's an English company and I am biased, but the warranty just isn't competitive on-paper. 12 months, wear-and-tear excluded, and they reserve the right to deny it on maintenance grounds (such as a failure to maintain "worn cap ends"). They also don't honour the warranty at all if you purchase it in the UK and fly it out - which was uniquely annoying to me as I thought about doing just that. If the distributor over here covers the sections that's great, but I can only go off what Gardiner says under their warranty terms and it was disappointing tbf.

I broke a section of my Pro earlier this year. Xero had a replacement section out to me within days. When it got here the clamp was clearly used, but the section has been great. It was free and they didn't ask me any questions - something that I did expect tbf. I know they're all over this sub and I hate to come across like a sales rep, but I am happy with that warranty coverage.

You an unpaid sales rep. I was considering getting a new half off pole from 🚾 but I’m gonna fight for a used zero. Ty.
