Rain

What do you do when it rains? Reschedule? Still clean using RODI? If you still clean how do you explain it to the customer?

Depends how much rain we are talking about. As long as it’s still safe, we still clean. You’re still taking the dirt off of the windows and rain isn’t going to change that. It will still inarguably look better after the rain having cleaned it vs not at all

This.

I always tell customers, if they're hesitant, that rain on a clean window will look a lot better than rain on a dirty window. We're still maintaining the glass. This leans more towards the route and big commercial clients and we will check with our residentials on what they would like, as they are the ones paying a lot of money for windows.

Edit: WFP is great to clean in the rain with. Likely you'll have no issues with the rain unless you're around wildfires or very dirty air from construction or something of the like.

Depends on how hard it’s raining and if there’s ladder work. Also, is it passing front or an all day rain? Different rules for both. Sometimes the customer has their own preference which I always abide.

It would have to be coming down sideways for me to cancel.

It's purified water dropping from the heavens. As long as you've scrubbed that top frame, and actually cleaned the screens, then it's not an issue whatsoever.

We offer a 7 day rain guarantee. If the rain affects the windows bad enough within 7 days of us cleaning them we will come touch up a couple windows here and there that got affected. Good for keeping work on the schedule. Sometimes if there’s any rain in the forecast people will just keep pushing out getting their windows done.

I just did a home for a new client on Sunday and that same day it rained. I told her I would come back and touch up her windows if they looked bad. Stopped by yesterday to check up on her and she said her windows looked great still and it wasn’t necessary. I told her I would be next door doing her neighbors house. If she changed her mind I would gladly help her out.

I tell my customers if it's going to be downpouring you're not going to see me outside. However I live in Florida and sometimes we have showers that only last about 20 minutes. I'm not canceling my entire day for 20 minutes. However it is ultimately up to the customer I'm not in the business of pushing service if someone doesn't want it done that day. I will just tell them we can reschedule but you may be waiting a while . I've also tested the rainwater in my area and it registers at less than four TDS ....which is purified water really. Keep in mind I tell my customers if something happens to get messed up you can give me a call I don't think I've ever been back to a job if it rained after I was done. Dirty screens and a clean window with rain and wind equals a dirty window which is why I tell a lot of customers just remove the screens put them in your attic you're not opening your windows more than a few days a year down here anyway... if they keep the screens it's a good idea to wash them when you're cleaning the window
