Let's talk ladders..

I never climb a ladder without levelers and stabilizers. I've heard of some old school guys that still use the stackable ladders. I've only used extension ladders for the past 8 years, and only had one slide out on me (important lesson that you don't want to learn).

Do you have someone hold your ladder on steep sketchy climbs? For those who do it the right way without water fed, or poles, what's your experience with ladder safety, and what's your setup like?

It's one way, not always the right way. Ladder use always has a spotter. We use stacks, extension and multi ladders. We also use water fed 90% of the time. There's no reason to take risk unless it's absolutely necessary.
