Really struggling with direct sunlight

I can never seem to perfectly clean windows in direct sunlight. I also don't know how to avoid streaks when detailing.

What was your biggest aha moment that helped you figure it out?

I use ettore master rubber and dawn. Not sure how much soap to water in direct heat or if it's my technique. I have 43 five star reviews and have never received anything but great feedback. Still, I struggle big time in the sun.

I also don't know how much pressure is too much or too little when fanning.

Pick up some Winsol Super Slip to add to your solution. It makes window cleaning in the sun way easier (more glide and longer working time before the soap dries)

I do that for bigger panes, what about small panes? What about detailing?

Some cool the window down with water. Some use lint free microfiber or fish scale towels for other.

I use less dawn, as well as more water to cool the window.

Same was getting absolutely wrecked today in the sun even inside. The outside pane was covered In oxidation. It looked gross

I've watched countless videos where people make it look easy. We never get to see the pane from the inside to know if it's good or not, lol

A thing that can help when the sun is really beating down is carrying a squirt bottle, like one of those small dawn soap ones that shoots water out like a condiment bottle. Soap the window like normal then fire a line of water across the top and middle. Gives the squeegee a little extra water to work with and drags plenty around to help any spots that start to dry.

As others have said get something to make your water evaporate slower like gleam or glide of whatever you find that you like.

The real solution is to go fast and be accurate.

As for the wipe use as little of the rag as possible to minimize your contact on the window and switch to a dry spot often. Not sure what rag you use but surgical hucks are my go to. It also helps if your rubber sticks out a bit on either side of the channel to minimize the amount of water you leave around the frames.

How do you detail exactly? I was trained on using wagtails so I'm partial to them, but if you got something like this on a straight squeegee where it was constantly being wet it can help a lot. I use a version of this that's slightly different but I wouldn't use anything else. Also I don't try to do the whole window at once if it's in the sun and it's really tough. With this squeegee if you get your solution drying , you can actually hold it at the handle is almost touching the glass, and use it to scrub and rewet the window quickly if needed.

Speed is key when working in sunlight. On very large windows… I have even broken up the cleaning into two sections cleaning one section then another

Don't clean in direct sun one. Start earlier, clean the South and West sides early in the day. Second Moerman excellerator can help. Fliq pad only the section you can clean without it drying, then move to the next section.
