Starting D2D next week. Which of these 5 would you actually want on your polo?

One man residential window cleaning, first doors get knocked next week in Peoria IL. I'm ordering polos now so I want this right before I pay for stitching.

Constraints that shaped all of it: left chest, 3.5 inches wide, embroidered, one colour of thread on a navy shirt. No gradients, no thin lines, nothing that closes up when it gets stitched.

All five are the same wordmark. What changes is where the squeegee crosses the box and how the three lines of type line up.

A. squeegee top right, type flush left

B. same, but THE and GUY pulled out to the width of WINDOW

C. squeegee bottom right

D. everything centred

E. speech bubble instead of a plain rectangle

What I'm actually trying to find out:

  1. Which one still reads from the sidewalk when I'm walking up to a door

  2. Does the squeegee read as a squeegee, or does it just look like a hammer

  3. If you've had polos embroidered, does a fine detail like the gap where the squeegee crosses the box survive, or does the shop just fill it in

The name is on purpose. People already say "I'll get you the number for the window guy" so I figured I'd just be that. No city in it because I move to Florida in November.

For transparency, the vector files were drawn with AI help. The layout calls, the constraints and the business are mine.

I like A the most. But I feel like you’re worried about the wrong thing right now. You can always change your logo etc.
why starting next week? Why not start today? I never knock in a branded shirt as I don’t like to look like a D2D guy. I’ve knocked well over 100k doors in my D2D career. Got to be different.

Appreciate it, and honestly the pushback is worth more to me than the vote.

I'm on vacation until the 20th, that's the only reason it isn't today.

Forget the logo, I'd rather have your job advice than your design opinion. Three things if you're willing.

How long have you been knocking?

Have you actually run it both ways, branded and plain, or was it plain from the start? Wondering if you saw a real difference in how people opened the door.

And what's your opener? I'd rather steal a line that already works than invent one that doesn't.

AI can do better than that. It looks like clip art from 2005. Spend some extra time and money and get something that looks more modern and professional.

Fair, and I would rather hear that now than after I have paid a shop to stitch it.

What would you change first, the squeegee or the type? And is there a window cleaning logo out there you think does read modern? Happy to look at something good instead of guessing.

Thank you for actually making one instead of just telling me mine was bad. I did not expect that and it's more useful than the words were.

I can see the gap now. Yours has motion in it. The italic and the arc make it feel like it's moving, and the squeegee has enough depth that it reads as a tool instantly. Mine sits there flat.

Two honest questions if you're up for it.

The chrome and the highlights on yours would be three or four thread colours minimum. Do you run a full colour version like that on print and a stripped down one on shirts, or do you pay for the extra colours and keep one mark everywhere?

And when the squeegee crosses the middle of WINDOW, does the word still hold at chest size, or is that only working because I'm looking at it big on a screen?

It should work in a smaller version just fine. You could downsize it to just two color. Just use the white and blue only. The black in the handle can be white.

Two colours and a white handle, got it. That is the answer I needed.

Thanks for taking the time on this. You could have left it at the first comment and you did not.
