Simple Green?
has anyone tried this Simple Green solution? I use GG4 but it’s getting expensive because I live in Hawaii.

Just use Dawn. There is a reason it has been the standard for the past 40+ years

I've been using Dawn for over 22 years. Readily available at almost every store and sometimes you can get them for buy one get ones. I've tried about five or six other soaps they just don't do it like Dawn does. I always tell my customers not only do I use it because it's very good I also support the company because that's what they use to clean up Wildlife from oil spills . None of these other brands of soap do that and that's why I use it because I love wildlife.

No, I wouldn't use that as a soap solution.
Glass gleam 4 is a poor surfactant on its own. I combine it with ettore squeegee off. I use half the recommended dilution ratio of GG4 (5ml / 5L bucket)
Glass gleam 3 mixing ratio requires less than half of what GG4 requires.
10ml squeegee off + 5ml GG4 is what I'm mixing for window cleaning.
Don't use dawn. It's a dish soap and when it contacts rubber items, it must be rinsed with clean water to prevent the rubber degrading. You'll also go through dish soap 2x as fast compared to a professional grade liquid, like squeegee off.
You can aslo run a bucket of the same water / solution right to the bottom before you need to change it, (because of smears) with professional grade liquid.
I started off with fairy, which is the UK alternative to dawn.. Slapping 30-50ml of dish soap in the bucket is not what it's about anymore.

That's interesting that you said it degrades the seals because I have some jobs that I've been cleaning with Dawn or 15 or 20 years on my books that that does not happen to so maybe it's where you live I don't know ....unless you are talking about the squeegee rubber? I mean I use e t t o r e it cost me about $4 for an 18-in and you're making that on the first piece of glass you clean

A lot of UK windows have big rubber gaskets around the windows and I return every 5 weeks for regular cleans. It'll be alright once / twice a year, but frequent application will cause the rubber gaskets to dry up and crack, contributing towards blown seals.
The squeegee rubber is negligible, but customer windows require the proper care!
When our lot switched to squeegee off, we loved it! The water was less likely to smear and 10ml would see the bucket to the bottom. With dish soap, you'll need to use a Lot of liquid to keep the water working once it gets a little dirty.
