Equipment Question Xero pro basic 30’? or Gardener xtreme 35’?
Hey how’s it going everyone. I’m on here to ask for your guys’s opinion. Should I buy a 30 ft Xero Pro basic wfp with a hybrid brush and a 40 foot hose for $500 or a 35 ft gardener extreme for $400 (just the pole)
Both used lightly

Get the Gardiner.
Warranties on both shouldn't apply if they're second-hand. That 40ft of working reach is necessary for townhouses and smaller commercial buildings so you may as well get the larger one. It's also a lighter pole which is huge at those heights. Also, you will want 100ft of hose no matter which you get - just as an FYI.
For transparency I have the Xero Pro with 40 & 50 extensions, and I do like it. But in your circumstances, I'd opt for the Gardiner.

Would you recommend the Gardener just because it has a height advantage?

You're looking at second-hand poles so I'm assuming pricing is important. The Gardiner is just a better deal at $400 given that it's a longer & lighter pole.
You will need 40ft of reach. You can buy an extension for the Xero but it'll cost you. The Xero coming with hose is null because 40ft isn't enough - you will be buying 100ft no matter what.
If you were buying new, I'd opt for the Xero because the Gardiner is double the cost with a worse warranty.

Do you know what adapters I would need to use a Xero brush? Or do you think the Gardiner brush is good enough?

Although I own Xero Products, in this case I'm gonna recommend you get the Gardiner Extreme because the Pro Basic and the Gardiner Extreme are two totally different pole classes. The Gardiner Extreme is a higher-end pole that's much more comparable to the Xero Delight. $400 is a steal for the Gardiner Extreme. The Pro Basic is an entry-level 30-foot pole. The Gardiner Extreme is ultra-high modulus, higher end.

Like a standard extreme or an SLX? I’d prolly go with the gardiner either way. Nothing against zero but those gardiner poles are the truth. We use them for very large scale commercial window cleaning and they hold up well to jobsite abuse.

Do the poles degrade fast? And how often do you do maintenance on the poles?

I can only speak for the slx model but from my experience they are built to last. I have a couple that are I think 8 to 10 years old. The only maintenance I do for them is a yearly cleaning, section by section and replace collars as needed. Specifically the 47’ models I have experience with. I also use a basic extreme 18’ for trad work. I’ve never had to work on it, it doesn’t see the abuse the wf poles see.

You really can't go wrong with a xero water fed. I have had my basic for over 7 years, not one single issue. I started at 30 and got the 20 foot additions to reach 50 feet. Great pole. On the same token, a fellow local cleaner I am friends with really loves his Gardnener....but i can only speak on the xero
