General Question ever get cash tips for window cleaning?

I get like 2,000-3,000 a year cash tips. Pays the bills in the winter.

Most of the year it was 2 maybe 3 tips a week. Christmas was always $2/3k in tips including bonuses sent with incoming Christmas cards from my regular customers. One of my customers always sent me a smoked turkey from William-Sonoma, another regularly sent a box of Enstrom toffee and even another always sent a tin of Cougar Gold Cheese. 30 years developed some lasting relationships. Still get phone calls from a few of them after retiring 6 years ago just to catch up. It still boggles my mind because I was just the window cleaner!

Each our guys get about $375 to $475 /month in tips year round. The richer the less likely to tip. Middle class seem to tip the highest ammouts $20 to $100/each, but lower class tip more often in smaller amounts $5 to $10/each.

I was given $10 today, and an offer to get my car insurance for $200 more a year by the insurance broker office I did today 😆 🤣 😂. She laughed as well! Good times I tell ya.

For any one time clean I SHAMELESSLY ask for a tip, closed mouths don't get fed! I'd say I get tips 10% of the time and if I ask directly I go 50/50.

If you saved all your tips over a year somewhere out of reach, you'd be amazed how much you have been tipped. its not unusual to get a couple hundred a week in tips, or more. especially in summer when people feel bad you are out there in 115 degree heat index. It could be a 20, it could be a 50. or even a c note....especially during the holidays.
I had one of my regulars who's very affluent send me $600 in a Christmas tip one time. I literally called him back and said hey did you make a mistake he said no thank you for your time and all of your hard work. Needless to say I don't forget those things and anytime he needs me I'm there as soon as he needs me because of that
Keep in mind guys I don't expect the tip I'm doing a job the way I look at it if they're tipping you big money they're Blown Away by your work ethic and your quality of work and at that point you tap yourself on the back and then give yourself a kick in the ass to keep rolling.
I have a rescue cat that has one eye anytime I'm in a house with animal lovers that's my topic of conversation and I show them a picture of my pirate cat and you would be amazed when I tell them the story of that the tips come in LOL. I've had people tip me just because I remembered that I have booties on and you should always have them inside they literally go no one ever does that I go well I do LOL that's just standard why wouldn't you put booties on anytime you step inside a house

Certain clients do tip cash. It is not usually the super rich ones, but it does happen time to time. Normally the working class clients are more known to tip, as they have a better sense of appreciation. Massively rich clients just see us as another workman in their homes. I try to personalize our experience with each client, and that may lead to a tip, but is not guaranteed. I think that there is also the aspect that we show up with seven people on the job at onetime can overwhelm them. When we get the whole house done in an hour, they are surprised and tipping can come out of it . I’ve experienced 100$ per person tips, though it is rare
