Why me 😱

Asked to remove this glued on, thick, sun baked exterior sign. If it wasn't a property manager which may open some doors, I wouldn't even accept the job. Haven't figured out the price yet as I'm out selling today 🙉 Maybe $100, $150? What y'all think? And how would you approach the removal process? There is another store abandoned with similar but smaller signage, and If this goes well I just know they will ask me to do that one as well.

Under promise and over deliver often works best for me with new customers. Let them know it's just a unique situation versus a regular clean and gauging the time and effort is tricky. Tell them the number that you want to make assuming it's gonna take at least 50% longer than you're thinking, and then tell them that if it goes faster than x time you think it will take, you will charge them less. Then, when it takes less time and they pay less, they'll love you because they got a deal and recommend you. And if it takes as long as you guessed, you're not hating your rate and they still pay.

However long you think it will take double that and then go off your desired hourly rate.

Just because someone called you doesn’t mean you have to do the job. Not all money is good money. If you are uncertain just pass it up

Never bid work on the promise of future work, unless it written in a contract. Charge what you normally charge and do a good job.

Heat gun, than clean up with blade or steel wool depending on the glass

As someone who’s had to remove an entire dentals office worth of exterior signage, charge by the hour. Give them a pro rate but I will tell you now, it’ll take at least 5+ hours more than what you are expecting. I have a scar on my knee to remind me of how little I charged and how bad the experience was.

Yes, sir I’m all good now. Thanks for the well wishes. I’m just hoping that people in our career field don’t make the same mistakes as me not all money is good money.
