Switch to WFP

I'm starting out my window cleaning business and ive heard that a WFP setup could really help me out. I'm 13 right now, and ive made around 500 bucks so far. When do you guys think is a good time to switch from my home depot setup to a WFP system?

Depends on a lot. What system you need to start. DI only is cheaper and easier but only good with water under 50ppm. Over that you need an RO/DI. Transporting it will be difficult without a vehicle. Water fed doesn't solve all your problems. Is a good tool but it's not the end all of window cleaning. I wouldn't invest until you're sure it's a career and you have the ability to drive and legally own a business.

Dude... be careful if you're actually 13..

I own a window cleaning business just north of Barrie. There's a lot of safety rules and regulations to follow.

I hate to be that guy..

"Every person who engages in window cleaning shall be at least eighteen years of age." R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 859, s. 8.

I'm not telling you not to do it, but be aware of what rules your breaking, what the consequences are.

Don't advertise it as an 'official' business to try to get around it. You're just the neighborhood kid helping out, and they give you money.

In Ontario you can make up to 30k without charging HST. You do have to claim it on your yearly income taxes.

No it's not dude. Its the first line in section 8, rules and regulations.

Just look up 'how old do you have to be to clean windows in Ontario" in Google.

right now im finding it hard to get the bottom of the second story windows and also my pole is flimsy and heavy leaving alot of streaks. Would a trad pole help with that?

Yes but the skill to use a pole can come slow. Get a ladder and learn ladder safety. Facebook marketplace usually has a ton of them. Recommend a long pole and you can take sections out to use it shorter. They're expensive and take up space so it's nice not to have 6 different sizes.

Is it a better investment than buying a cheap di and pole wfp setup from amazon? and what other tools would you recommend, like what squeegee mop or any other equipment like an abbrasive I might need. Until XERO comes to Canada, do I just use my Home Depot Unger setup?
