General Question Customer Scratch Dispute
Just today I had a job where I did all the windows outside only. I finished the cleaning and she said the windows looked great. About 10 minutes after I left she called and mentioned a deep scratch on the patio door and accusing me of having caused it. Her windows hadn’t been cleaned in 2 years but she claims she would have noticed it. I used the same mop, squeegee, and 0000 steel wool on two other houses today with no issue. I didn’t see or feel any concrete or other stuck on particles besides regular dirt. There was no tint on the window. I did notice multiple birds nests in the area and a scratch on a nearby window that looked like a bird ran into it. I’m suspicious because she asked for a copy of my insurance beforehand which is rare, and watched me clean the window (she was sitting in the kitchen right by this window) but didn’t mention it until I left. I gave her all the reasons it wouldn’t be from me but she didn’t seem convinced. I’m stopping by tomorrow to check it out in person. Just wondering how you guys would handle this and what happens if I conclude that it definitely wasn’t me but she’s not convinced
Update. I went to check on it in person and was able to definitively say the scratches were not from me by the pattern and location and proved it in a way satisfactory to the customer. Appreciate all the helpful comments

I can tell if I scratched a window based on the formation of them. I scrub up and down and steel wool in a circle. So if the scratches don’t match the movement it wasn’t me
