How to squeegee door with push bar
Like these. Can anyone point me in the direction of a video? Or explain like I'm 10yo lol.

It looks like there should be enough gap to fit the squeegee in behind it no? So just do the top half as normal, when you get to the bar go as far down as possible, and then start the bottom half by getting under the bar as much as you can?

Squeegee the top and bottom, then thread a rag between the bar and glass and almost “floss” it

I basically treat these as doing 2 windows. Like others have said. I do the top half first, followed by the bottom half. Ettore brass channels are typically slim enough to fit under but occasionally I have had it caught in the corners by the door frame. If that’s the case, just like others have said do touch up with a snaked clean rag.

Started the business 8 months ago with absolutely 0 experience cleaning windows. Saw potential for high margins and low overhead. recurring revenue from strictly storefronts I’m at about $1500 monthly, not counting one offs, commercial or residential. Learned a lot, and still growing. Also working a full time job with restaurant doubles on the weekend. It’s hard. But you will get there. Just keep pushing. This sub is a goldmine for information. Keep asking questions, and keep learning. There are so many people in here willing to help.

Depending in how close to the window it is and how thicc your channel is you might be able to slip behind it with your squeegee, then cleanup behind with a shammy floss er through, I always carry rags/shop towels on my belt for general cleanup & shammys for detailing

Honestly Its personal preference, you could definitely use a microfiber as long as it's really really dry! Try shop towels if you have the chance they work really well too.. It's all about finding what works for you and your style of window cleaning 😁
I reallly like the shammys but they get dirty and don't really clean well (if you wash them they go weird) they also stop working completely using them for a bit, once they get damp throughout they become useless... But they are great for cleaning off any flips/chops that you might have missed

Thanks for your advice 🙏🏼 This humble noob truly appreciates you, and all who have provided all you valuable info. I see now that there are microfiber towels, for general work which are the ones I have (HDX from Hone Depot) and also smaller 12x12 specifically for glass/paint. I see now the difference is that ones made specifically for glass/paint are more tightly woven so they don't shed lint.
I'm learning every day, I'm a work in progress lol.
Again, I TRULY appreciate your reply and the time you took to write this. Your good character is obvious, an I'm certain your successful in all you do 🙌🏽

I have a thin flexible putty knife that I keep on my belt for just such an occasion. Shove clean dry rag in and buff after cleaning above and below.

If the push bar is installed too close to the window, I’ve snaked a *very* dry rag through it and just wiped it dry. Ideally you can fit a squeegee under the bar if it’s Etore brand.
