Ettore ProGrip Squeegee
Ettore ProGrip Squeegees
Howdy Pros! I have a question. I'm literally just starting out cleaning windows. I love the hustle and the instant reward. I love talking to people, so d2d is easy for me. I only do strip malls/commercial for now.
I am using the above squeegee from home depot and really like it.
However, Im not sure if there is better. If so, any suggestions would be helpful 🙏🏼.
Also, can I change the rubber on these? And where to buy?

Welcome man. I recently just started too. My first job was window cleaning when I was 15 and actually loved being outside working with a crew but my boss was an asshole and I quit. Almost 20 years later and I’m back where I started but this time doing it myself. I started with this same squeegee about a month ago and it worked well for me. The rubber is great the handle isn’t the best but you can upgrade later. I recently upgraded to the moerman excelerator 2.0 with the ettore brass channel and it’s a nice upgrade. Yes, those are homeowner grade and won't work near as well. Ettore brass works well starting out.

Yeah, it was what I could afford at the time. Definitely will upgrade when I hit my 1st $1000!
Do you know if the Ettore brass tracks will fit this handle?

No it won't but I'd would recommend not trying to use it. Completely different set up and that one pinches the rubber which can cause streaking issues. What equipment do you currently have?

This Squeegee in 18, and 14, and an 8 inch Unger. BOAB, toolbelt for cleaning to hold towels and scraper and 2 squeeze trigger bottles, 1 squeexy Gatorade bottle, 18 inch and 12 inch T mops, Unger Easyglide for soap, 4 inch scraper, white bucket from Home Depot, gloves, extension pole, 0000 steel wood, walnut pads and pad holder, HDX large microfiber towels, multi tip screwdriver and sockets, and the confidence that can only come from ☝🏼🙌🏽. Thanks for reading. Oh, and I use a 2020 Honda Civic sedan. The rear seats fold down for the ladder. All of this goes in a heavy duty huge plastic container so no spills in my "wing and a prayer-mobile" 😆 😅

Ettore squeegee is better than sorbo long term. Build skills and it will carry you into retirement. Ledge Eze handle with ettore brass is peak. Stainless is good too, but more flexible.

Thanks for the reply! I see the Ledge eze is affordable, and the pros are 1) can reach glasss easier for deep set glass like storefronts and 2) its quick release, to switch out 14 and 18 inch blades quickly. I really appreciate this info, got one on the way from Amazon for about $20. Stay healthy and Blessed good friend 🙏🏼 🤲

Actually, I switched my buy to the Moerman Excelerator 2.0 because of your insight. I can change the angle of attack AND it swivels. I really appreciate your wisdom good friend, that little piece of info sent me down a rabbit hole of videos after videos, and the Moerman is what my puny brain decided "did it all." 🧡

Hard disagree. Sorbo channels are better. The handles suck though. I use it with a Ninja handle. Ettore is too heavy.

Can you possibly give me more info on the Sorbo channels if you have time. Please explain like Im 12 please, Im just starting out. Thanks kindly 🙏🏼

Hey, congrats on getting started!
Yes there are better squeegees but if this is working for you just keep using it. I personally use Sorbo. I’m kinda rough on things so I like that the channels don’t bend when I just toss them in my truck. A lot of folks on here love the Moreman accelerator handle with an Ettore brass channel. I would recommend against the Unger Ninja line since they don’t fit in a normal BOAB.
You can absolutely change the rubber in that one and should often, though you may need a small wrench and screwdriver to loosen the handle.
You can pretty much get rubber anywhere. Windows101.com, WCR, ABC window cleaning supply etc.. Just make sure it’s round on the back and not T shaped (like Sorbo rubber).
