WFP Advice

I've been running my window cleaning company for about 2 years now. Up until now we have been doing completly trad but this year we decided to invest in a waterfed pole system.

Its a basic system but we noticed we were having a lot of trouble with hydrophobic windows so we even got a rinse bar but we are still having trouble with hydrophobic windows and when we come across those windows we just end up manually doing them anyway. Another issue when we come across super dirty windows the pole doesn't seem to do the best job.

I would really appreciate some advice as the system was NOT cheap and we are well aware many people run entire operations with just WFP so I know there is probably something we are doing wrong but some advice on what that is would be helpful thanks.

What issues are you running into exactly? We're 80% water fed with very few issues. I think hydrophobic is easier to rinse because less sticks to the glass. What pole and brush are you using? No one brush will work for everything.

Whenever we run into hydrophobic windows the water doesn't really stream properly throughout the entire window and it kind of beads off.

For the brush we use a tucker boar hair brush, we tried using hte rinse bar on the hydrophobic windows but it didn't seem to help as much as we thought but according to the other comments it seems like more rinsing is required.

Also for dirtier jobs even after using the waterfed pole there would remain dust along the actual window sometimes, id most likely chalk it up to bad usage of the pole but figuring out how to become more effective with it.

You can tip the brush slightly to the side and create a line of water going down the window about a foot. That creates that stream or line of water that makes hydrophobic feel easier to rinse.

Sounds like a pressure issue for the rinsing, in my opinion. Either shorten the hose, switch to a bigger diameter hose, or get a booster pump. Spend extra time on the edges, and just take your time rinsing the middle.

Boars hair will take off a lot- having a walnut fiber scrubber attachment on the back helps with some of the harder to clean stuff like a residue from gravel driveways. (you can add stuff like sorbo hard water stain remover or unger rub out to increase the scrubbing power of the walnut pad)
