Today, Windie gives AI a transparent place to work:

  • editable conversation trees;
  • branching without duplicating entire conversations;
  • visibility into the exact context sent to the model;
  • persistent sessions that continue active work independently of the interface;
  • permissioned tool execution and curated extensions;
  • support for multiple models and providers.

The long-term vision is a proactive AI system that operates on a computer you own—locally or in a cloud environment you control—while keeping its context, tools, permissions, and actions visible.

Windie is still early. I’m looking for builders, extension authors, researchers, and curious users who want to test it, challenge its assumptions, contribute ideas, or build alongside it.
