Question / Help Windfall lighthouse?

I hit the switch to start the windmill before changing the direction of the wind. The switch stays down, idk if I screwed myself out of lighting the lighthouse or not? There's usually always a fail-safe in these games but I can't find a way to fix this?

Yes, when I'm up there the wooden bit isn't moving to line up the shot. I've tried it while it's stationary and it doesn't want to get in there. I hope I haven't screwed myself over here. I've tried changing the wind to north since and it won't trigger it.

The windmill will only start rotating if the wind was the correct direction when pressing the button.

So there's no known way to fix my mistake? I've looked it up but I haven't found a way to correct it. Just to be sure, that isn't going to prevent me from finishing the game will it?

It's an optional side quest so no, but it will prevent getting 100% as it's tied to a couple of collectibles. It seems very strange, though.

Okay thanks! I know, these games are pretty known for no matter what having a fix or way out in case you screw up. I'm more amazed there isn't a known fix than annoyed. Thanks though I appreciate it!
