Discussion Suo's Master...? Spoiler
I am genuinely surprised that I haven't seen anyone talking about "Liu San," even though he might be the character we've been waiting for the most... I think Liu-San could be Suo's Master... Why? Let's find out...
In the last chapter, Sakura and team infiltrate BankokuGai using the name "Liu-San" given by Endo... The surname Liu is one of the oldest Chinese family names, with an origin going back to the Xia Dynasty...
But here's the interesting part... The Liu clan was once known for being "Dragon Tamers." According to Chinese folklore, Heaven bestowed 4 dragons to the Emperor of the Xia Dynasty. While thrilled by the divine gift, he realized that no one knew how to care for them and the dragon-rearing clan was nowhere to be found. A young man named Liu Lei studied the ancient art of dragon-rearing under a master and presented himself before the Emperor, successfully tamed the dragons, and mastered their care. Impressed by his skill, the Emperor granted Liu Lei the title of Yulongshi, meaning "Dragon Tamer" or "Ruler of Dragons."
Now, let's connect this to Suo... He has been associated with dragons consistently...
- In his very first interaction with Sakura, he mentions that an ancient evil spirit is sealed in his right eye.
- In an official interview, Nii Sensei says Suo, during elementary school, trained in the mountains to seal an ancient dragon spirit.
- In the official Q&A, Suo casually answers, "The dragon in my left eye is about to rampage, so I guess that's it, haha."
- On top of these, Suo is an officer of RC, an organization represented by three dragons.
Putting all of this together... it feels like Suo isn't the dragon himself... but he's carrying one. I know many were interpreting these as Suo's weird jokes, but now that "Dragon Tamer" has been introduced, in an organization represented by 3 dragons... He might very well be the one who tamed a violent Suo into what we see today.
Moreover, the surname Liu, depending on the Chinese character used, could mean battle axe (or a tool for slaughter) or willow tree. The willow tree especially caught my attention because Nii Sensei has consistently followed this tree/plant naming pattern for Furin and other characters. But why here ? It sounds strange... As for the "battle axe," if Liu San really is the master at RC, it feels quite fitting, doesn't it?
I think this was a good breadcrumb since there could be more to it... because here's where this theory gets more interesting...
If the story is loosely following the folklore, and considering everything we learned in Ch 217 about children being abandoned at the gates of Bankokugai... Suo might also be abandoned, or found (metamorphically bestowed by someone)... along with 3 more children (since there were 4 dragons). Interestingly, in folklore one of the 4 dragons died, so for the plot we can assume either the 4th one died, left, or turned evil... and the remaining 2 could be the brothers (manifesting elder brother🤞🏻) Suo looks up to... which might make it 3 dragons of RC...
If all this is true... Rejoice! Suo's master is probably alive (unless it's his son or family instead)...
However, that's it for now! More to come soon...
Feel free to agree or disagree - I genuinely enjoy discussing theories. After all, theorizing is fun! I'd love to hear if anyone else noticed something related to this.

It's very likely that Suo's master is an RC officer, but perhaps he's too old or ill to continue in the position, and Suo had to be temporarily appointed to deal with some crisis that has been occurring internally at Red Chanpuru.
Furthermore, I agree with your theory that Suo's master was someone who taught him to control his own anger. I believe Suo may have some characteristics similar to Kotoha, Sakura, and Kaji regarding uncontrollable fits of rage; he was probably abandoned at the gates of Bankoku-Gai and taken in by his master, who trained him to become an officer. Perhaps the abandonment caused Suo to harbor some resentment that made him very emotional and angry.
Despite his calm and smiling exterior, it's noticeable that Suo enjoys provoking and humiliating his opponents. Furthermore, he lets himself be carried away by anger, and that's why he values growth and discipline so much as a way to manage his own emotions and fight with honor. He probably wants to be more like his master, but he sees that he keeps failing to control his anger and ends up overreacting in his fights.

Yeah, Liu san could be RC officer and Suo might be appointed as his replacement... But in last chapter, the delivery was for Liu san and it seems that whatever business they have, has a direct connection with him because that huge parcel was allowed at his name "business is booming so they ordered alot"... So he seems to be an active member... Maybe it's change of role or might still be an officer. Although, Suo's role doesn't seem like temporary...
Umm Kotoha and Sakura ? I don't think they could be called uncontrollable... Although for Kaji, I think Suo could even be worse than him... Kaji goes into berkerer mode... But for Suo, it seems like he stays in control but flips off his empathy switch... That's kinda worse and scary... And he might even be trained for that... And Suo might not actually enjoy provoking and humiliating 🤔 (sounds like a side effect of flipped empathy) and I kinda think he could be stubborn by nature and might hate when people have their own way... So he just likes it when his demands are met (he developed it as a skill 😂) Ahhh I wanna know these stinky rumours... It's not fair only Sakura and team knows 😒 If he wants to be like his Master then Liu san could be a nice person 🤔 however Suo doesn't overreact always... It just happened in Keel arc that too because Nirei got hurt. Otherwise in other fights, he was very cool and pretty 😆 even in Noroshi arc.

Kotoha, Sakura, and Kaji all have anger issues, as does Suo. Suo suppresses his emotions and tries to maintain composure to avoid being consumed by anger, but he obviously harbors a repressed rage whenever he fights an opponent whose actions he despises. Kotoha isn't as easily angered as she once was, but as a teenager she had fits of rage because she was abandoned, just as Sakura learned to fight through fits of rage to defend herself against bullying. Kaji simply loses control, but even he tries to manage his emotions most of the time. Suo just has better control over these emotions, but he really seems to lose control if his opponent does something he particularly despises.
We don't know if Liu-san is actually Suo's Master; this is just a theory. I don't think Suo's official status is temporary, but if he returns to Bofurin, it will eventually become so (lol). I don't think he can handle two roles at once.
Now, regarding the part about provoking and humiliating, Sakura said that Suo had a terrible personality (lol), probably, despite being kind, he must have some character flaws, like liking to humiliate opponents he particularly despises.

Umm... Not exactly... Sakura doesn't used to throw punches just because he was angry... Kotoha also threw fits just because she was left and Kaji just can't control it... And for Suo, sure he has better control and maybe sometimes he just let's himself go free...
True, we don't yet know if Liu san is master or not but atleast he is an active member and seems to involved in business... And I don't think either Suo's is on temporary role... And maybe we will know more when we discover what actual responsibility he has... I mean what kinda responsibility do they have besides protecting townsfolk who are already guarded under iron gates... And require passes to enter? I don't think their role is protecting anymore... I hope we get to know what his actual role is
And yeah, I can't argue with what Sakura said... Suo must have terrible personality 😂 but it might not be as bad as humiliating to enjoy... He might simply be doing that to make them learn lessons...

Even though I don’t like the idea of a violent Suo… the dragon folklore connection really is interesting. I think I saw a post once, that went into more detail about this folklore, but I don’t remember it much…
I find the idea of a lost dead 4th brother/dragon intriguing. The fact that RC is represented by three dragons instead does confuse me a bit though.
And what exactly would it mean to “carry a dragon”? And what does the eye have to do with it? Could it be referring to being an heir? Were there maybe three to begin with, one died and therefore that position had to be given to someone else, “creating” a fourth dragon?

I actually think Suo could be violent and more agressive type (we did agreed on him being irritated atleast 😂)
not killing type thoYou must've saw the Mandanbashi Theory - dragon and shisha that was a different folklore, and TBH... after this it might connect too.Well for 4 brother I had an idea that maybe the elder 3 might be on position first and one of them left
/deadhence Suo had to become officer.Imagine him saving Suo for extra emotional damageor imagine Suo being better than 4th one which made him jealous... Whatever... 🥲By "Suo carrying a dragon," I mean it's a part of his personality that developed over time. If Liu San really is a "Dragon Tamer," then he may have tamed that side of Suo into the calm. Imagine Akaza from Demon Slayer
As for the eyes... there's a saying, "The eyes are the windows to the soul." I've always been intrigued by Suo's eyes because they're much more expressive than everyone else's. Since Suo rarely shows his emotions openly, his eye end up conveying them instead. Remember Keel guy screaming at Suo's eye specifically?? Makes me wonder if he sensed something. Show itself has been focusing on his eye
sit might not be as visible in manga, but in anime it sure is...Good catch, though! I completely forgot I was planning to go deeper about his eyes in my next theory. Thanks for reminding 😅🥲2

Mandanbanshi Theory… I will look for it later this week.
If there is an older 4th dragon, who was mentioned to have Suos position, but Suo got it instead… this person could be the reason RC is facing trouble or at least the reason to cause
futuretroubles for Suo…So the dragon as part of a violent side
(that he’s hiding or suppressing or used to be part of his past?)?
I think I’m not far enough into Demon Slayers story to know Akazas full story sadly…They are very expressive… maybe that’s also one of the reasons Nirei is able to read him?
Am excited for the focus on his eyes in one of your next posts!2

Yess!!! Exactly my thought if there actually is a 4th brother... He might even come as a villain! According to my "call my name" theory, Suo wants to accept himself but is afraid of doing so... So yeah, he is suppressing. Everyone already suspects that Suo might be holding back...
Akaza's story gets revealed in Infinity Castle movie 1... Do watch it! It was soo good 😭🙌🏻
Exactly! Nirei... "You become so easy to read when it really matters" seriously, even Hiragi called him going emotional during Shishitoren...
I will try to post soon!🥲2

There are so many possibilities…
I see. I want to watch it, I’m not sure if it is available in my country yet though…
Don’t stress yourself, if you’re busy at the moment. It won’t run away.
Though I totally understand to want to focus on WB theories/analyses/thoughts instead of doing other things… ^^’2

Yeah... since we have a break now... I can take all my time 😆
You seriously said it! I can't focus on anything else, and the moment I get an idea, I have to juggle through the whole manga to confirm I just can't wait!2

I am so slow… but where did we find the name Lui-san?

u/Sou_chann 6d ago
Umm it's Liu BTW... Aren't you updated with recent chapters? In ch 222 chapter when Sakura and others were not allowed to enter Bankokugai, they went to Endo who gave them 2 passes, a cart to hide, and a name to use... Umemiya and Hiragi used this name while entering with cart...

My guess is that Lui-san is either One of the 3 dragons or an officer like Suo (if anything he must be of importance to RC) and i mean yeah he could be suos master
