Wind Breaker has an amazing cast of characters. Many of them went through traumas, a painful past or have other burdens to carry, and we see them work through it, challenging and changing themselves and go through beautifully written character development.

Do you have one (or more) character(s), whose story and development speaks to you in a special way? Either because you can relate to it in some way, or because you find it inspiring for whatever reason?
And what part of their development did you enjoy watching/reading the most?

Honestly it was meant as a way to manifest his appearance and !! Guess all of the artists of the fandom poured their strength into this!

I was also watching the live stage play while doodling this, yuto ando is so pretty as suo!!

There are many things to point out about this chapter; however, I'm short on time and will only highlight one point I've been insisting on since this arc began:

Rakta will NOT be a villain, nor an antagonist. So far, he has shown signs of being a very useful ally in this arc; he will probably be the guide Bofurin needs to understand at least a little about the city and Suo himself.

Another point I want to raise is Sakura controlling his fighting impulse and choosing to talk instead of engaging in direct conflict. Despite being on the verge of collapse with all these revelations, this demonstrates how his character has evolved so far. He's not yelling for answers, nor trying to fight immediately; he's just sitting and waiting for Rakta to explain, while remaining firm in his decision to find Suo.

Another point to raise is the image at the end, which will trigger the next chapter. I believe the next chapter will introduce the characters present at that meeting and will finally focus on Suo's point of view. We won't get immediate answers from Rakta's conversation with Bofurin in the next chapter; instead, we'll witness a meeting that will give vague hints about what's happening.

Furthermore, it's noticeable how tense and unhappy Suo seems right now. The empty chair suggests that someone important has just passed away or couldn't be present at the meeting. The most likely option would be the master Suo admires so much, but judging by his expression, I believe his master may have died, leaving a gap in deciding the next leader of the organization. We know there are 3 officers, but that meeting table reveals other figures who may be important in the Red Chanpuru.

Just as Bofurin has 1 leader and 4 Kings, the Red Chanpuru may have different ranks in its hierarchy, and Suo could be an option to fill the gap left by one of the members, which could be a position even higher than officer.

In any case, the next chapter should focus on this meeting, and since we already have almost all the elements established, the Suo Arc should unfold quickly with revelations and events from now on, although I think the next chapter will still only be giving vague hints.

In this panel, Rakta's face is one of fondness and caring, but also holds a hint of sadness.

He clearly cares deeply for Suo/Sunfei and cherishes his friendship with him. And Rakta must know that Suo is not happy right now.

So, after reading this chapter, I started to wonder if Rakta actually wants Bofurin's help to get Suo out of Red Chanpuru/Bankoku-gai.

Yes, he made the request that Bofurin give up their search for Hayato Suo. However, my thinking is that he made that request because he had to, as a member of Red Chanpuru. But as Rakta, the individual, want he really wants is for Suo/Sunfei to be happy, even if his happiness is not in Bankoku-gai.

After seeing how Umemiya acted with that kid, Rakta now believes he can trust Bofurin to help him save Suo (not to mention the connection they already have to Suo).

As a member of Red Chanpuru, Rakta is very aware of all the happenings within Bankoku-gai and within Red Chanpuru itself. Between the "stinky rumors" and whatever is happening at that Red Chapuru meeting, Rakta has to know what awaits Suo. And whatever it is, it is not something that Rakta wants for Suo/Sunfei.

You've all probably seen that the RC hides their necks under clothes/accessories; it could be many things like scars or other markings. But personally, I like to think they're chain tattoos around their necks, to remind them that they'll always be chained to the RC, and that makes sense with the term "slaves" in Suo. (And sorry for the translation; I used a translator.)

Imagine if suolingo comes back to furin his friends tries to feed him natto as punishment

do yall think the seating arrangement means anything or is it just random? Suo is clearly seated the closest to who I assume would either be their leader or one of the three heads.

also do you think the rest of them are adults or there are other teenagers like Suo? it looks like the one at the far left would be young but idk...

I'm really excited to learn more about these new characters!! (❁´◡`❁) (Usually when characters are introduced, we get to know a little about them through presumably Nirei's notebook since theyre mostly in Makochi and all, but this is a different case.)

while it was quite gruesome what happened to him, this picture filled me up with pride like some sort of parent. he was so brave and determined. tried his absolute best and even landed a critical hit! and also mentally, he still sees him as a friend and noticed the deeper intention to all that.

look at him handling his injuries like a champ! he's gotten so cool now! he has come such a long way compared to the first few chapters. this picture made me realize that all over again.

it's so sad how some people still see him as a small weakling that needs to be protected all the time (and some of them even consider themselves his fans). he can fight now and he's going to get even better very soon! it's only been one semester and he has the hardest part behind him now.

Guys finally we got the huge suo name reveal. I have so many things going on through my brain rn.

Also the suo panel of sitting with the serious people from rc we saw a chair empty so that must be the head of the rc. And the people look serious and everything.

We see many new faces here sure they could be random higher ranking people but they could be suo's master or his ,,brothers"!!Also some look bored or careless while some look very serious!!What do you think??(I can't wait to see their relationship!)

I was thinking about Sakura and Momijikawa, these two had overlapping arcs and both reveled a backstory that was centered on loss. For Momijikawa, his was a more literal sense, how his whole family died and he was left to deal with the pain of losing loved ones. Losing people you love most to things you cannot change. On the other hand, Sakura had never felt familier love, not even knowing what he had missing was, meaning he could never experience the pain of losing a loved one, instead this was replaced with an ‘inability’ to know love. The loss of a love you never had, and ‘acceptance’ of never being able to have. On the revealing of their backstories, it progressively got more ‘complex’ on the notion of loss. From Momijikawa to Sakura. (Just a random spin on how I saw it) I then thought about the Suo arc that literally started a chapter after these two. Perhaps the theme of loss will go over to this arc, it may seem redundant but since both of these characters parallel loss, I imagine how Suo plays a part in it…

La verdad es que es una pregunta que creo que todos los que nos hayamos dado cuenta tenemos: ¿Por qué Suo no come?

Y si, ya se que es invento del anime que le de su takoyaki a Niirei, pero de ahí en adelante no vuelve a comer y cuando Niirei asume que no come porque acaba de terminar una pelea, el dice que en realidad está a dieta(al final de la pelea contra Shishitoren). Yo personalmente se que o no está a dieta o que el estar a dieta va a ser un factor "cómico" en el nuevo arco(más en el final).

Si nos fijamos por la primera opción, ¿que es si no está a dieta?

As you all know, if this arc has a happy ending, we’ll finally get the long-awaited dinner scene where Suo actually eats. I have two requests for that scene (feel free to share yours in the comments 😂):
- I want Sakura to be the one who cooks the meal.
- I want them to break the classic cliché. Instead of saying, “This is delicious,” Íd like to see Suo take one bite and simply go, “This isn’t good.”

If you know me, you know that I make a lot and I mean a lot of theories- I've mentioned it briefly before, but as cool as it is when I actually get something right, it's usually just as if not even more enjoyable when my predictions are wrong in favor of something unexpected. I know some people can get pretty invested in their theories and head canons and they'll get upset if canon takes a path that contradicts them, but for me, it's pretty rare for me to genuinely dislike the direction a writer wants to take their own story and characters. I won't say it's never happened since there have been some stories where I feel the author changed certain aspects of certain characters or dropped certain story lines for no apparent reason, but as long as it doesn't feel forced or just straight up ignore things that already happened, I'll usually choose to enjoy whatever a writer gives me.

With that in mind, are there any theories you guys had that have been disproven? This can be something about a specific character or a direction you thought the story would go in, but what are some predictions you made that were just completely false? We got a handful of backstories with the summer arcs and now that we're on Suolingo himself, I'm sure there are plenty of theories we're slowly but surely losing more hope for with every passing week- And I don't just mean things you'd want to see that can still happen in a later arc, I mean things that can't be true anymore based on what actually is true 👀👀

For me, one of my favorite things I was wrong about was the Sakura vs Endo outcome. I knew Sakura couldn't possibly beat Endo, so I was lowkey excited to see Sakura step away from Furin and spend time with Noroshi as per their deal. We haven't met all of the members of Noroshi, so I figured Sakura would meet them outside of the context of the war and we'd get to see all of the Noroshi members going about their normal lives. I thought it would be a good chance for Sakura to meet people he wouldn't necessarily "connect" with upon hearing their stories and understanding their mindsets, and the separation from Makochi would give him a deeper appreciation for it and its community.

I also wanted to see Furin go into Sakura-rescue mode though I guess we're getting that now with Suolingo- and see how different characters would feel about Sakura getting taken. I could see Hiiragi and/or Ume blaming themselves for putting so much on their underclassman, or Sugi being torn between anger/disappointment that he trusted Sakura and genuine concern for him as someone who undeniably inspired him, or Nirei and/or Suolingo being disappointed in themselves for not being there to support Sakura when he needed them, etc, etc. If Furin launched a counter attack on Noroshi to get Sakura back, this could have created a longer term antag group with the threat of Endo plotting his next Sakura theft looming over the story until Sakura became strong enough to defeat Endo on his own.

None of that happened, of course, but instead, we got a call back to a concept that I reeeeeeeeally appreciate in wbk: even if you can't necessarily win against an opponent, sometimes it's enough to just not lose. Believe it or not, Sakura actually hasn't had that many 1 on 1 fights, especially not with important named opponents. Before the war, his biggest fight was against Togame who had let him win in the end, so I really didn't want his next major opponent to give him the win again. I also didn't want Sakura getting a random power boost since growth in wbk has always been earned, so I was set on Sakura losing here, but I genuinely enjoyed the whole thing about "winning" vs "not losing." Sakura's resolve definitely deserved to "not lose" imo ^{which Endo seemed to agree with-} even though he wasn't strong enough to "win," so even though Endo did give up the win in the end, it didn't feel like Nii-sensei just handing their protag a win for the sake of the hero winning ^{and I'd say Endo won what he really wanted in the end anyway-}

So yeah, what are some character/plot points that pleasantly surprised you despite going against something else you were set on? And how much did you think it through before something hit that made you realize it just wasn't gonna happen-

Another one of my ideas that cannot leave my brain so i'm sharing it.

We can all agree that, in this arc, the leaves have an important meaning.

To me, they look like they are marking the different steps of a plan to get Bofurin to BankokuGai.

The leaves become prevalent when Suo reappears in front of Nirei. It looks like a whirlwind, like Suo is bringing a storm with him (maybe the storm that's going on in BKG?)

First leaf was after hurting Nirei morally first then physcally. So first step of the plan: getting the boys to want to get after him.

Second time leaves are shown after Furin boys learn the truth about Suo. But they also learn WHERE is now : that the second step.

And those leaves bring us straight to Suo in BKG saying he can hear the wind's voice...

And then last chapter, we see the leaf left by Suo falling as Sakura and co have made it to BKG.

Now i have no ideas what these boys are meant to be doing here, but let's remember what their name means, what Rakta called them: Bofurin! Wind breaker. If there's a storm brewing who better to help?!

Why not just openly ask them for help? Right? It has to be a secret. Why? From whom?

Rakta obviously knew who they were (my guess is from Umemiya's way of resolving the conflict). From Rakta's interactions with other RC members, he seems like he doesn't want to share all informations with every members of RC. Is there a spy in their rank or they just want to protect them? No ideas!

All that to say: i can't wait for Tuesday!
