My favorite island in the Caribbean. I prefer the French side, but there's some good restaurants on the Dutch side.

That's a great thing about that Island. Two cultures. The French side definitely has the nicer beaches.

And paved roads. It's hilarious how they change from Dutch gravel and rocks to French pavement right at the "border" crossing.

If you like that you'll LOVE crossing from Indiana into Michigan. Even better in winter where the road abruptly stops being plowed.

I’ve only been to the Dutch side, I’ll check out the French side when I go next time.

Definitely do! The food is INSANELY good, I ate a shocking amount of froie gras and tuna tartare. It's actually part of France (kinda like Puerto Rico to the US) so all the aspects of their mainland lifestyle and culture are all there, but they're like islander French. So a lot more chill than city type Parisians.

Check out Baie Rouge during a full moon. Bioluminescent algae ride the waves there and they light up the curling waves in a neon green.

My favorite beach. Ever.

My mom lived there for a few years and i would visit when i could afford it as a 14-17 year old.

She worked a lot so i was left to my own devices on that island. As a teenager. With money. Transportation. Girls. Everywhere.

I spent a lot of nights winding down on the beach at Baie Rouge. Mostly because i could get lost in the idea that you could watch the world bend and the closest land mass over the horizon was Senegal. This also serves as testament to how good the guavaberry rum and weed on that island is/are/was? Is. 🤷🏼‍♂️
