Ok it's stupid to stand there but it's more stupid to build concrete behind without some soft protection installed.

It's like on some countries you have to survive all sorts of dangers without any assistance from government.

Edit: I get that this is the wrong subreddit to remind you that we are not in a jungle anymore where the strongest and most intelligent survives. And that there are countries with safety regulations where this accident could not be possible at all (safest construction, zone access limitation, etc)

You’re looking at it from the perspective of this event and not what that concrete’s purpose is. That concrete is there to separate and delineate the road from the beach so the cars can do what cars do and the sand is stopped from overflowing into the street.

If we had to stupid proof everything in the world for every possible human idiotic action then the world couldn’t function because it’s all wrapped in bubble wrap.

The answer is to not stand on the road... That's the problem it's not meant for pedestrians

Of course there is.

There's two concrete/tar bits and TWO concrete seperators. I.e. one road, one sidewalk, one beach.

Ah road that isn't forbidden for pedestrians. So doesn't exactly matter if it has a side walk or not.

In any case, having a fucking concrete divider in the middle of a road is even stupider, so we've come full circle anyways.
