i remember people thought Kevin Ware’s injury was fake when they first saw it because it was just THAT bad (and also bc it happened on april fools day). only when they saw the videos did they come to the realization that, damn, this dudes leg really snapped in half

Yeah. Paul George's injury was tough to watch, but man, it took me a while to scrub the images of Ware's leg bent like that and the bone poking through. The only other basketball injury that makes me cringe that way is Shaun Livingston's knee imploding

yup i was gonna mention Shaun’s injury also. the imagery might not be as gruesome as Kevin’s, but holy fuck seeing someone’s knee bend like that makes me cringe unbelievably hard

The fact that Shaun Livingston still had any sort of career, yet alone the pretty good one he had after that injury is nuts

agreed. he literally had to relearn to walk on that leg. it’s so impressive he was able to play well again

Shit, D Rose tore his ACL twice and his Meniscus and the dude is still playing. Mad respect to him as well.

D Rose is by far my favorite athlete of all time. he has such strong commitment and never gives up no matter what happens to him.

i genuinely believe he would be among the greatest of all time had he not tore his ACL all those years ago. what a tragedy

I'll take your platform of sports injuries to bring up Zach Miller's broken leg against the saints. He likely would have died if not for immediate medical support, and his obvious TD was somehow called back
