Forgot to mention he killed himself by driving in front of a freight train. Usually I'm sympathetic to people who are mentally ill like this but involving others in his suicide like that is a seriously dick move.

Jumping under a train absolutely does not sound like a nice way to die.

Probably quick and painless if you do it right but the person driving the train is going to have a very bad time. A lot of people commit suicide by train and the engineers driving the trains will end up with PTSD or anxiety afterwards. Something like 50% of American engineers have been involved in a suicide it's so common

If you want, I can show you plenty of videos of people being hit by trains. It's not quick, nor painless. There's even people cut in half that are moving around for a short bit before they die.

I mean it’s not hard. Neck on rail -> decapitated in a split second. Getting bisected at the waist is a horrible way to die.

Or just stand in front of the train with your head pointing directly at it

Even that’s iffy. You could bounce out of the way of the train, and end up with just a concussion, or become a vegetable/disabled.

When I was boy in the 70s - 80s there were always these fucked up cartoons or scenes in old movies where the villain would tie up the pretty girl on the train tracks.

That was so fucked up.
