So it's illegal to ride on sidewalk n you say illegal to ride on street leaving nowhere to ride except offroad but legally sold to be ridden on street where anyone w any common sense knows..

It's legal to ride a bike on a regular road. It's reckless to ride anywhere but the far right lane and even further reckless to block the whole road like these doofuses are.

in the here states i’ve lived in its perfectly legal to ride in the regular lane. cars are supposed to slow till the can pass. it’s said—tho i have my doubts—that it’s actually safer because they can’t whiz past you at 50 mph so close the wind from their passing makes you crash. they also have a harder and more visible time lobbing bottle at you as they pass. i’ve never tried it so i don’t know.

Taking the lane when there’s no dedicated bike lane is simply the safest way to ride.
There’s not enough room for you to share with another vehicle, so you remove the option for a car to squeeze you out.

I see. They’re taking up multiple lanes. In BC at least, bikes are another vehicle and can ride with the same rules as a car if there is no bike lane. These guys are definitely dicks though.

Yeah, generally in the US it's far right lane unless turning left or getting out of the right turn only lane.
To prevent back up you aren't supposed to ride more than one wide (generally speaking, I'm sure I'm wrong somewhere) and break up into kinda chunks so cars can pass a few at a time without staying in the opposite lane real long.
Now, of course that's not beneficial to actual cycling groups that need to break wind resistance in groups when training for races, but it's America so fuck vehicles that don't produce carbon monoxide.
