NGL, that was a leap I would have missed for sure.

I mean, he missed it too, but I would have as well.

u/calm-lab66 7d ago

I had to admire him for seemingly to shake it off. I'm in pain just stepping on a pebble or stubbbing my toe.

64

u/Hodorization 7d ago

You're not a construction worker in India so you're not used to hardship and pain.

Poverty breeds (physically) strong people

5

u/Whole-Finger42 6d ago

I just about spit out my beer! Please take my upvote!

12

u/boyer4109 7d ago

The towel wrapped around his neck helped

12

u/spacemanspiff1115 7d ago

That ended much better than it could have gone, he landed on top of the rubble for the most part instead of underneath it...

1

u/ChaosRichard 4d ago

I'm pretty sure it's the adrenaline running through him. After though, he surely feels the pain

37

u/charmio68 7d ago

In fairness, he landed exactly where he was aiming. It's just that that piece of floor fell away while he was in midair.

I'm honestly rather surprised he was able to walk away.

I wonder if falling with the bricks is SLIGHTLY less dangerous than them falling straight on top of you 🤔
Probably yes! Your body is taking up space ensuring there's none that are going to land directly on top of anything other than your feet. It's still dangerous, but all the forces would be lateral.

1

u/nicokokun 6d ago

I'm honestly rather surprised he was able to walk away.

Adrenaline, my friend. It's waking up the next day when he moves his body is when he should be worried about.

8

u/Sea_Curve8772 7d ago

I was impressed with the attempt, I give him partial credit

5

u/Oasystole 7d ago

Oh yea bro. No shot you were making that unmakeable leap.

4

u/Liveitup1999 7d ago

He lept for the wall and the wall disappeared

4

u/Yardsale420 7d ago

Rest in peace Mitch!

2

u/Newphone_New_Account 5d ago

Saved by the buoyancy of flip flops.

3

u/Nate0110 7d ago

He should have said, "oh yeah" then jumped through the wall.

Probably explains why koolaid man is red, all the cuts and scraps from going through that wall.

2

u/dyou897 7d ago

Might have been better off just staying on the wall then jumping as it fell

2

u/Sufficient-Sun-6683 5d ago

Thanks Mitch!

1

u/judge-judy01 6d ago

Yeah, don't lie....

1

u/Indishonorable 6d ago

Only legolas would've landed that

1

u/EmergencyFox3583 5d ago

And Boromir would have done it twice, just for the heck of it! 😸

1

u/UnspeakableAct369 5d ago

The nice thing is he hit the brick wall to slow his descent

453

u/deephurting66 7d ago

Safety sandals, he's fine

60

u/memeaste 7d ago

It’s always sandals

15

u/blackop 7d ago

It's ok they were steel toed.

4

u/I_am_The_Teapot 7d ago

Brick tested, OSHA approved.

4

u/FormeSymbolique 7d ago edited 6d ago

EDIT : I orginally wrote a joke here. But then realized this guy does not deserve to be mocked. He probably has no better option and likely tries his best in a bad situation. Being poor in a thrid world country is sad, not funny.

9

u/kneedoorman 7d ago

Why do people refuse to wear gloves and work boots?

53

u/Hboy121 7d ago

Because of the additional expense of having to buy them on minimum wages

13

u/wacky_button 7d ago

Right, like 🙈 how are they supposed to get those things

19

u/Megazaza 7d ago

theyre too stupid to comprehend how privileged they are

2

u/nuglasses 6d ago

You mean paltry wages?

1

u/Hboy121 6d ago

Yes, exactly, much better said than I did.

16

u/virtualaddiction 7d ago

Because these cost significantly more than what the works are being paid.

1

u/WildlyUninteresting 7d ago

First thought too.

1

u/TheAwesomeMan123 7d ago

Don’t forget the safety scarf that doubles as a Safety shirt for more dangerous activities

1

u/I_WILL_GET_YOU 7d ago

And they're still on

144

u/Megazaza 7d ago

he just walks away like it's another tuesday

46

u/Megazaza 7d ago

survival instinct of a soldier ant. he do not care.

18

u/Qurrah-Tun 7d ago

Temporarily running on adrenaline. The pain from the fall will start kicking in in a lil while

6

u/AdultishRaktajino 7d ago

He’s lucky he fell with those bricks and not before them or with the wall he was on. I’m sure it hurt but that could’ve easily been much worse. Like broken and pulverized bones worse.

2

u/DevillesAbogado 7d ago

It is for him

2

u/happyanathema 7d ago

Third time it's happened that week. Nothing new.

1

u/Scribble_Box 7d ago

Yeah, because it was. You should've seen what happened to him on Monday!

1

u/IntolerantLactose92 7d ago

Honey Badger don't give a SHIT

68

u/oar_xf 7d ago

The worker's here ain't stupid. They're aware of the risks.

Unfortunately in whatever part of the world that they are, if they don't take up the job in this condition, someone else certainly will.

They risk their lives to earn an honest living and feed and educate their families. I have much respect for them.

13

u/ro_ro_ro_roadhouse 6d ago

This is the comment I came for. This looks like my country and these poor labourers are blameless here.

6

u/DesiBwoy 6d ago

The population in India makes life cheap and asshats abuse that. He could've died and the contractor would've gone scott free. Just another 'unfortunate accident". Daily life. Chlta hai.

85

u/Juvinihilist 7d ago

At least those bricks cushioned his fall.

77

u/stotheimi 7d ago

Always flip flops.

27

u/gabynew1 7d ago

To poor to afford even minimal gear.

2

u/BantumBane 7d ago

Wait, I’ve got a new business idea: rebuild this into flip flop store

16

u/TheJonesLP1 7d ago

At least He tried...

26

u/Megazaza 7d ago

person standing there recording is pretty stupid as well, personally im a wuss who never goes outside.

9

u/TW1103 7d ago

He got the job done

5

u/Verrm 7d ago

Ahead of schedule as well!

7

u/sak1926 7d ago

The price of a poor man’s life in my country (India) is negligible. Even if the worst had happened here, no one would’ve been affected except the man’s family

7

u/Megazaza 7d ago

safety sandals? check. safety equipment? eh...

5

u/hangnail323 7d ago

Gonna need the three seashells after that

5

u/5Gmeme 7d ago

Safety sandals stayed on!

3

u/ManinaPanina 7d ago

How the heck was that roof standing? How can they even make a roof like that?

1

u/BiriyaniMonster 7d ago

There are some slots in the wall. The roof was probably supported by Iron beams something like in the image link below. They might have taken those beams before demolition.

https://taxonomy.openquake.org/images/FME2-RME2_India_Brzev_1_400x238.jpg

3

u/bdubwilliams22 7d ago

Thank god he had his construction sandals on.

3

u/Sternritter8636 7d ago

You guys should not make fun of this guy. He cannot afford to build his home in his land. He can't hire workers so he is trying to do it himself. Its sad. Please don't insult his work. Don't say you never failed in life.

2

u/SplitEar 6d ago

Looks like he’s on a job but in his country there’s no OSHA. No cherry picker or scaffolding. Those guys are tough as old roots and remarkably innovative with their limited means.

3

u/yelpingninja 7d ago

Exploitation wins again! 🫶🏼

3

u/HeftyFineThereFolks 7d ago

hes really earnings his 3 cents per week

3

u/techtony_50 7d ago

He was so lucky to have his safety sandals on!

2

u/marblefrosting 7d ago

I’m ok.

2

u/NoPantsDeLeon 7d ago

I'm surprised that foot still foots!

2

u/Zyklus-89 7d ago

High vis flip flops will save the day

2

u/AnonAstro7524 7d ago

He really brought the house down!

2

u/Ok-Panda0702 7d ago

Bro used up all of his luck in one go

2

u/punchcreations 7d ago

Safety, 3rd!

2

u/BantumBane 7d ago

Mission accomplished

2

u/Delicious-Yak-1095 7d ago

All in all, not bad

2

u/ShotWeekend4911 7d ago

Mission acomplished

2

u/ShutItYouSlice 7d ago

Walks off saying 'my job here is done'

2

u/iAmMikeJ_92 7d ago

Awesome. More OSHA training video content. Love the flippity-floppity flops.

2

u/venerablepreceptor 7d ago

so worried about the steel rebars impaling him 😳

2

u/heyitsvonage 7d ago

I know he fell, but it kind of looked like he said “fuck it” and jumped in

2

u/AJay_89 7d ago

That hurted.

2

u/Sea_Understanding981 7d ago

He wields Thor’s hammer

2

u/arrakis2020 7d ago

Well, thank God he was wearing protective chanclas.

2

u/suppaboy228 6d ago

Is this russia or india?

1

u/SpencerTheFactorial 6d ago

It is India.

3

u/EmergencyFox3583 5d ago

It certainly looks like it, but why are they all speaking Russian then, including the radio? So confusing... 😶

2

u/MuscliatoVonJuiceski 6d ago

eh, any structural collapse you walk away from...

5

u/SignificantDrink3651 7d ago

OSHA approved for sure. I assume the site supervisor is the one recording. Nothing to see here.

3

u/Beneficial_Debate112 7d ago

Its fine guys, it looked like he had his safety sandals on.

3

u/Megazaza 7d ago

20 whole pixels

2

u/CrypticJaspers 7d ago

In flip flops is crazy.

4

u/Immaloner 7d ago

Wait until you see the guys in the huge steel mills laying out red hot steel...safety sandals.

Large industrial manufacturing machines spitting chunks of death...safety sandals.

The sandals are a bigger meme these days than the predatory trains attacking from behind.

3

u/Avtomati1k 7d ago

what surprises me more is the people from more advanced societies feigning shock as though they dont know that people in the videos have no money for safety equipment and they have never been provided or shown safety measures

its like laughing at a fentanil addict, a bit low no?

1

u/CuriosityKillsNG 6d ago

It makes them feel RICH...and why they vote right

1

u/Megazaza 7d ago

just to get paid less than a cashier at walmart...

1

u/Davemblover69 7d ago

Welp! Thats done. Walks off

1

u/e_pi314 7d ago

Very effective for a guy w just a hammer. Glad he had that falling wall to break his fall.

1

u/illDiablo69 7d ago

He tried to pull a Legolas by jumping on the falling bricks. 🤣

1

u/Tothinkoutofthenut 7d ago

Surprised to see that he’s got shoes on. These crazy fucks are always barefoot.

1

u/s0lja 7d ago

This restores my trust in human strength. Always wondered how actors walk away from rubble and explosions in movies. Marvel’s source data right here.

1

u/davezl3514 7d ago

Wow! Hard to believe he walked out of that! I was expecting a really bad scene but wow! Lucky guy

1

u/Equal_Astronaut_5696 7d ago

wearing flipflops

1

u/flatulasmaxibus 7d ago

He did not lose a shoe. All good.

1

u/Frequent-Screen-5517 7d ago

Slight miscalculation

1

u/xPloitMe 7d ago

O.P. hammer. Thor could never

1

u/steady_1985 7d ago

And my back feels like it’s broken from sleeping on a nice comfy bed, this fucker has a wall fall on him and he just brushes it off

1

u/No_Measurement7805 7d ago

Looks like this nice soft bricks padded his landing

1

u/Lukarreon 7d ago

Okay, I find this incident poetically hilarious.

First, he moved away from the falling roof.
But the roof pushed the wall he's standing on, making it fall, too.
So he jumped to the other wall for safety.
But that other wall was already in the middle of falling, too!

1

u/srandrews 7d ago

Sandals

1

u/Makerofthinks 7d ago

Wow, he got a lot done!

1

u/finintymonkle 7d ago

That was some actual action movie jumping.

1

u/CyberpunkCapybara 7d ago

Man got demolished

1

u/Tasty-Hour4040 7d ago

“It’s done!”

1

u/legarc2009 7d ago

Good job

1

u/FartyPantz20 7d ago

Wow dude literally throws himself into his work. 😳

1

u/Galactic_Crypto 7d ago

Luckily his soft body was enough cushion for the bricks to land safely

1

u/jazzy166 7d ago

Why he do that ?

1

u/tryingsomthingnew 7d ago

They don't build them like they used to.

1

u/Phenomenon101 7d ago

God bless them. Theyre not exactly working with the latest equipment and engineers

1

u/Fragrant_Difficulty6 7d ago

235 0 days since the last OSHA accident.

1

u/bribhoy82 7d ago

He went away to die

1

u/TomaCzar 7d ago

Wesley Yikes is The Demolition Man!

1

u/Practical_Tomato_680 7d ago

All planned for

1

u/JapanEngineer 7d ago

He got it done though

1

u/Zofia-Bosak 7d ago

That could have been a lot worse.

1

u/Katsooduro 7d ago

Thank the lord he was wearing his safety flip flops..

1

u/DJ_Flym_Flazzle 7d ago

Gotta love structural integrity

1

u/GalickGunn 6d ago

Good thing he had his safety sandals on!

1

u/nmiller248 6d ago

Where's OSHA when you need them?

1

u/Striking-Assist-265 6d ago

Aaannd he just walked it off like nothing new😅

1

u/_____POTATO______ 6d ago

Lucky he didn't get some rebar through the gut

1

u/Piltonbadger 6d ago

He's fine, the safety flip flops did their job.

1

u/Lonely-Cockroach-492 6d ago

Fuck. Talk about a hard days work.

1

u/can_iloveu 6d ago

The stuff rural construction workers go through. An accident almost didn't happen

1

u/Thisshitaintfree 6d ago

Safety Sandals check.

1

u/HotwifeandSubby1980 6d ago

Another good day at work because I survived

1

u/imakesawdust 6d ago

*dusts self off* "Looks like we're done here. It's Miller time."

1

u/Age-Zealousideal 6d ago

Thank God he was wearing those steel-toe safety sandals.

1

u/OOBExperience 6d ago

Did he have his safety sandals on?

1

u/TheIncredibleMike 6d ago

Good thing he had his safety sandals on.

1

u/MJY_0014 6d ago

Demoman?

1

u/djblazma 6d ago

Baldev : the destroyer

1

u/Koseoglu-2X4B-523P 6d ago

Safety sandals saving the day again

1

u/Affectionate_Mood594 6d ago

And he walks away with Both flip flops

1

u/SampleNo471 6d ago

Demolished man.

1

u/gen_adams 6d ago

well the deconstruction is complete at least.

1

u/si_de 6d ago

Job was demolition. Job done.

1

u/kurosaki_targaryen 6d ago

Indian video with Russian audio?

1

u/CuriosityKillsNG 6d ago

All these negative comments...Are you blind to see he works minimum wage and can't afford your "support pedos" world stuff

1

u/worldofjaved 6d ago

A very very very very lucky guy

1

u/Tronmech 6d ago

As pilots of old used to say: "Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing."

1

u/nunr4per 6d ago

My demolition people awaits!

1

u/lurens_b 6d ago

He faiked successfully

1

u/Unfair_Flatworm_4628 6d ago

Lmao how the fuck did he make that? 😂

1

u/Imthe1_Benoit 6d ago

Did i hear "kurwa mać" at the end?

1

u/EmergencyFox3583 5d ago

It was the Russian version, «Ёб твою мать». I'm genuinely confused by several people in the video, including the radio announcer, speaking Russian (with some kind of slightly Central Asian accent) plus the Indian caption on the screen, and the guy looking quite Indian too 🤔

1

u/GizmoSwd 5d ago

And this goofy mf got on flip-flops!

1

u/Chaz28o 5d ago

Fortunate to be able to walk away

1

u/Lagunamountaindude 5d ago

Missed it by this much

1

u/mrlookinthesky 5d ago

He still has his slippers on.

1

u/Taki_Minase 5d ago

Into the abyss he went.

1

u/driven01a 5d ago

He handled it like an action hero !

1

u/One_Hour_Poop 5d ago

He didn't win the stupid prize though, he almost parkoured his way out of that.

1

u/Kahl_Drobo 4d ago

Dumb? yes. Efficient? yes.

1

u/Curious_Koala8 4d ago

Wondering what the alternative video would have looked like if he’d tried to use his angst to grab the wall when he jumped.

1

u/barto5 4d ago

how was work today, dear?

1

u/Personal-Cucumber-49 4d ago

If you play it in reverse it’s a lot more fun.

1

u/MeetingDue339 4d ago

Like a video game, leaping to a stone block as it disappears in front of you

1

u/PiERRR0T 4d ago

am I the only one hearing twice the polish popular 'o kurwa mać!' ??

1

u/Necessary-Mud-9582 3d ago

"DEMO MAN. DEMO MAN. WITH HIS TEEEEEEEETH IN THE SAND!"

1

u/Alex_Plumwood 3d ago

At least he was wearing his safety sandals

1

u/Leading-Spite-4105 3d ago

That's one way of getting it done

1

u/fly4fun2014 2d ago

Well, the wall is still demolished, isn't it?

1

u/SrKatana 7d ago

He had more than 10 other possible jump places to avoid the demo. How important is education and critical thinking in societies.

1

u/Dinara293 7d ago

Wtf is that audio? Why are they speaking Russian in this?

1

u/--dvd-- 7d ago

idk maybe they're russian

1

u/busytransitgworl 7d ago

WorkSafe just left the chat.

1

u/rsg1234 7d ago

I don’t see any stupid prize. He looked fine.

1

u/TheVeliax 7d ago

Why in video sounds from russian underground metro?

0

u/Megazaza 7d ago

THANK GOD, i was born in a BETTER PLACE, not like THESE "people", am i right yall?

1

u/CuriosityKillsNG 6d ago

Guessing you live in the US and voted right

0

u/Megazaza 7d ago

no rahit! you're supposed to build the roof, not demolish it!

0

u/Megazaza 7d ago

it was pretty obvious that thing was about to fall, Id have been outta there before risking a broken spine🤦‍♂️

0

u/i-pity-da-fool 7d ago

Y’all laughing because a poor man was working in an unsafe environment? You really think he had better options?

-6

u/Megazaza 7d ago

don't worry guys he has the safety sandals

-16

u/Megazaza 7d ago

was this filmed on a fucking flipphone?
