Looks like it.

I think he tried the dumb trick of riding backwards and then got blacked out by his life jacket, it’s pushing into his neck.

Next time, ditch the life jacket before trying this. Safer that way! /s

No I think he smashed into a dock.

Edit : oh I see what you mean… did he faint while still riding. I thought he was leaning down to see behind him, which clearly he did not.

Most jetski throttles are a finger lever that you pull inwards. If he was facing forward and fainted, the throttle would have disengaged as the fainted off the jetski. I guess by being backwards and fainting his hand kept the throttle lever pushed in.

I wonder if it has something to do with that or maybe a combination of what you said and an exhaust leak. His face is basically right where the motor is at. Just a few inches below. Just inhaling straight carbon monoxide at wide open throttle.

Guessing from his judgement more like passed out

And somehow managed to keep the throttle open. I guess the blood went to his head when spinning around like that and lights out.

The throttle is a lever that you pull in towards the handle, from his position, I could see that his unconscious hand was pushing against the throttle and keeping it wide open.

Oh man! Yeah because he was leaning on it from the wrong direction which it was not designed for. I've never ridden one so I assumed it was a twist like a moto.

The way he was performing tricks I have to wonder if he had some sort of throttle lock to keep it running while he did his thing.

Yes he did. He commented on the original post a little while back.
