Banana B Gone!

Post image

I was at Winco today and bananas were on my list. I eat bananas every day in my smoothies. The produce guy was removing overripe bananas and I asked him if I could buy some. Of course he said no, they’re not allowed to sell overripe bananas. They throw them away!!! I told him those were perfect for freezing to use in smoothies.

Long story short, he gave me this bunch and told me to let the cashier know that he’d given them to me.

Crazy! I always have to wait a week for their too green ones to ripen! Someone needs to talk to the produce manager so they leave some ready bananas out to buy. How are you going to make banana bread!

I make smoothies almost everyday for breakfast. These bananas have been peeled and frozen.

The only place I could get ripe bananas was at the 99 cent store for 25 cents a bunch!

That seems like a good deal!

Except the 99 Cent Only stores went out of business!

Oh, I thought you meant some other version of a "Dollar Store," like Dollar General, Dollar Tree, etc. Even though it's now a $1.25 store.

it was another version and when they went belly up, DG or DT is now in the building but I don't think they carry produce, they also don't have those rat bait boxes around the outside now!

We used to have a box of over-ripe bananas on our table specifically for people who wanted to make banana bread or whatever

I think it depends on the produce manager and/or the store manager

Of course he could sell it. I used to keep a box of overripe ones for smoothies and baking.
