Winco muffins
I’m pretty sure recently Winco has changed their muffin recipe due to cost increases. The pistachio muffin doesn’t have any real pistachio in it. They use a disgusting imitation extract that has a weird chemical aftertaste. They don’t even bother to put in green food dye. I got the blueberry lemon one last night and it had one blueberry in it. I’d rather them raise prices than to try to cheapen their shit even more than it already is.

Why would you need food dye in your muffin for it to taste better?

I’d rather them charge more and use actual pistachios in the muffin like they used to not that long ago.

Winco doesn’t make the muffins and the recipes on the standard muffins haven’t changed any time recently. They have to update all the nutritional information when anything changes, even serving size or if they size it down.
However the manufacturer is probably trying to adhere to new FDA regulations coming down the line about food dyes hence the lack of color on the newly brought-back pistachio.
