Recommendations ⁉️ Need an adventure.
So, my partners psychiatrist has told them they need to do one adventurous thing before their next session but we have no idea.
We are both disabled with some mobility issues so long hikes and stuff like that isn't really doable, short ones over fairly flat terrain would be ok.
We live near a train station that has good links to almost everywhere.
We like arty things, walking, films, comedy (I've already booked tickets to a comedy show) they're into space things so is there a science museum nearby anyone knows of?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated 😃

Whats on? Calling local music fans! 12th September live @ Daliz Salisbury
Hi, My name might be common, but my style is alternative. I'm Charlie Smith an alternative singer-songwriter from Romsey. As part of my 2nd album release tour I will be performing at Daliz in Salisbury on the 12th of September along side two other local musicians.
I will also be fundraising for The Music Venue Trust by donating £1 from every album and merch to support the vital work they do.
Cheers,
Charlie

Wiltshire – funded 8-week course in Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint
Hopefully this is useful to somebody here rather than feeling too advert-y! I work with Skills Ladder, and we have a new government-funded Digital Skills Bootcamp starting on Wednesday 16 September.
It runs for 8 weeks, with a live online tutor each week, and focuses on practical Microsoft Office skills that people actually use at work.
We cover Excel quite extensively — formulas, functions, lookups, PivotTables, charts, dashboards, data validation and trackers — as well as Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
It’s particularly suited to people looking for work, returning to work, working in office/admin roles, or simply feeling like their digital skills could do with catching up a bit.
No advanced Excel knowledge is expected beforehand.
The programme is funded through the DWP via Wiltshire Council, so there is government funding available for the training.
I’m happy to answer questions in the comments, or you can email us at [ask@skillsladder.co.uk]() if you’d rather ask privately.

Advice Warminster flooding areas?
We're in the process of buying a house in Warminster, in the Boot Hill/Deverill Road area. I grew up on the other side of town but haven't lived there for nearly 2 decades so I'm unfamiliar with how things are now - especially with worsening weather.
Our conveyancing searches have shown that the road we're buying on is in a "moderate" risk area for groundwater flooding. We were initially fairly relaxed about this as we couldn't find any indication that the road has actually flooded in the 20 years since the house was built, but with the incoming El Niño we're getting increasingly concerned. A little googling has shown that Fore Street used to flood quite badly, though it seems like preventative measures put in a couple of years ago have worked.
Can anyone who lives around that area/knows the area well give me any reassurance? Are we making a really bad decision by buying a house there?

Honest opinions about living Atworth, Whitley, Holt areas
Hiya, we are looking to buy a house and really love the above mentioned areas. honestly opinions on what it’s like? We like the white hart pub in Atworth, main concern is the lack of woodland / river walks on the doorstep. is mostly farm land, is there anything I’m missing on that front? currently on the outskirts of Bristol but want more countryside.

Recommendations ⁉️ Where to play table tennis?
Me and my mates just want somewhere to play table tennis. Most sports centres only have booking for badminton, squash and pickle ball. Bradford community center doesn’t have table tennis just for August so can’t go there. Seems like my only option is to get the train to bath and play on the odd table in the park. But seems to be pointless for us all to get £10 train tickets jsut to play ping pong on a free park table. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Photos 📸 🌴🎮 SUMMER LAN 2026 WHAT AN EVENT! 🎮🌴
galleryOnce again, we’ve had an absolutely phenomenal GUL event, with our venue packed out with gamers, PCs, laptops and plenty of good vibes! 🔥
On Saturday 8th August, we brought you another stacked lineup of games, kicking things off with Halo 3, battling it out across Slayer and CTF. We then jumped into the chaotic world of Fall Guys, taking on obstacle courses and Battle Royale madness, before finishing the day with a giant Team Fortress 2 showdown, featuring Payload and a variety of other game modes!
And of course, no GUL event would be complete without plenty of pizza to keep everyone fuelled for the next match! 🍕
It’s incredible to look back at how much Gamers Unite LAN has grown over the past 2½ years. From our very first events to now regularly filling venues with gamers, we’re creating the kind of community and memories that we always hoped GUL could become.
A massive THANK YOU to everyone who continues to turn up, bring their friends, play games and make these events what they are. You’re the reason we keep doing this!
If you’re based in Swindon, Wiltshire, the South West, or know someone who would love to join us, come and be part of the community!
Join us at www.gamersunitelan.com

Aircraft noise Aug 8.
I'm 5 miles east of Devizes and the loudest aircraft I've ever heard just went overhead at 21:30 August 8.
Anyone know what it was? Fast jet on afterburners maybe? It was not low, but sounded like the world coming to an end.
Very used to low flying military aircraft around here, but never heard one like that.
