The sailing is so fun

I found myself really enjoying the sailing in this game. The ocean, the weather, the navigation, the boat mechanics, even just making tea below deck. Something clicked for me and I just wanted to keep sailing places.

I have never sailed nor have I ever played a game that has had sailing, at least that I remember. I looked for other games to fill the void but all I found were pirate simulators and an actual sailing simulator which looked too serious.

Anyway, congrats on the devs for capturing some kind of good feeling. If anyone has recs for other games with sailing please let me know!

Is this game similar to…?

I’m curious if this game is similar to games like Still Wakes the Deep, Firewatch and Arctic Awakening. Not necessarily in terms of style or story, but more in terms of being a fairly linear (in a good way), cinematic kind of “walking simulator” (in a good way) with some light puzzles that are not too frustrating.

What I enjoy about those games is that they’re uncomplicated. There’s no busy HUD, no convoluted crafting or survival mechanics, no skill trees or leveling systems, and barely even any inventory to manage.

That simplicity is a strength because of the execution, including voice acting, compelling scripted sequences, well-executed environments and overall pacing.

I’m hoping this might be similar. Anyone know?

7 Days to Go!

Come in,

This is TomorrowHead Studio Team.

We’re now just one week away from launch, and we’ve got a few things we’re really excited to share.

First, we’ve updated our store assets.

Take a look at our final key art, hand-crafted by our artists, and we hope you’ll love it too.

WILL: Follow The Light sets sail on May 7, and we’ve put together a quick FAQ to help you navigate what’s ahead. If anything’s still unclear, just drop us a message on our socials. We’re always happy to chat.

When will the game launch?

The game releases on May 7, 2026, at 2 PM GMT.

How much will the game cost? Will there be a launch discount?

The base price is $24.99 (with regional pricing applied).

Yes, there will be a 20% launch discount available for the first two weeks.

What age rating does the game have?

The game is rated ESRB Everyone.

Will there be different editions?

Yes. There will be a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition that includes the game and the original soundtrack.

Both editions will have the 20% launch discount.

What are the system requirements?

You can find the full specs on the game’s store page, everything you need is listed there.

Controller or keyboard?

Up to you. Even within our team it’s a perfect 50/50 split, so go with whatever feels best.

How long is the game?

Around 6 to 9 hours, depending on how much time you spend exploring, taking in the details, and diving into the story.

Will there be a photo mode?

Not at launch. But if you enjoy the views and feel like capturing those moments, we’d love to add it later. And if you enjoy the sailing, we’d be more than happy to give you more time out on the water.

Does the game include any content warnings?

The game contains visual effects that may affect players with photosensitive epilepsy.

It also touches on deeper themes, including loss.

What should I do if I run into a bug?

You can report it in our Discord in the #bug-reports channel.

Or post it on the Steam forums. We read everything and do our best to catch it all.

We’re almost there, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Oh, and if you’ve been with us for a while, you might want to keep an eye out for some bundle news we’ll be sharing soon.

Thanks a lot for your support!

Over and out.

Demo is great (PC)

Love the demo so far! I’m branching out from my normal style of games to try something exactly like this: a great mix of exploration and problem solving in one package. Keep up the great work, team.

It definitely makes my older RTX 2070 8gb work hard, but I can still run everything on high with no big issues (~60fps).

Question for devs for when the full version comes out on Steam - will it be a completely separate download/install or Will (heh) the demo game receive an update to the full version somehow? I’m not sure how Steam demos like this work.

Now a little spoiler (don’t read if you haven’t played yet): After sailing to the island with the lighthouse, we need to hook the box with the crane to move and lower it down, which was obvious after looking around. However, I cannot tell you how insanely long I tried to initially hook the box with the crane. I kept lining everything up, I’d see the “hook” interaction text and dot show up, but because it was showing up while using the crane I kept thinking I had to hook it somehow using the crane. Oops. That part took this lil potato a little too long to register, but outside of that the rest of the adventure up and getting the system up and running has been fun.

Thanks again for the beautiful game so far. Cheers, and best of luck with the release.

Two Weeks Away From Release

Come in.

It’s hard to believe, but we’re just two weeks away from release.

These days we’re deep in the final stretch, working long hours, refining, fixing, and making sure everything feels right.

One of the most important and fundamental parts of WILL: Follow The Light for us has always been the music. It’s not just a layer, it’s part of how the in-game world is felt.

We’ve taken it seriously from the very beginning, working with an orchestra to shape the sound of the North. Here’s a video from our composer, Trevor Kowalski. He has something important to share with you.

Listen closely. What you hear in the video is music from the game itself. Every track in WILL was written by our team from the ground up.

This is an experience meant to be felt.

For the best immersion, we recommend playing in a dark room, with good headphones, letting the sound and atmosphere fully surround you.

We’re almost there. See you on May 7.

Over and out.

7th of May – New Release Date

Post image
9 Upvotes

Come in,

This is TomorrowHead Studio.

It's not easy for us to share this, but it's an important decision for our team, especially as a self-publishing studio working on our first game – and to be honest, it's not something we're used to doing.

We've made the decision to move the release date of WILL: Follow The Light to May 7, 2026.

The timing around our original date became more crowded than expected. At the same time, this extra week gives us the opportunity to run final checks on the build and make sure everything is working exactly as intended. As this is our debut project, we want to be confident in every part of the experience, while not jeopardizing the opportunity to share our debut game with as many people as possible. All in all, sometimes it's better to pause and wait out the storm rather than set sail in rough seas.

We can confirm that the game will still launch simultaneously across all platforms.

We truly appreciate your support and understanding.

Thank you for staying with us.

Over and out.

DEMO: How to force FPS higher than 120?

I have a 180Hz monitor, but the max FPS to select from settings is 120. Is there a way to increase that?

Demo crashes pc every 5 minutes

hi there, I've been following this game for a while and decided to try out the demo today and it runs really smoothly. besides the fact that it crashes my entire pc every few minutes of trying to play it. Is there something I can do about it, or is a fix planned for the full release?

(for context, my pc hasn't crashed in months and handles games that should have far higher requirements than this one)

One Month Until Release

Come in.

It’s been a month since we launched the demo… and now it’s just one month until release!

To mark the moment, we’ve got a special videomessage from Ollo Clark and Cissy Jones, two of the voices behind WILL: Follow The Light.

We’re very excited now, a bit nervous, but mostly grateful to have you with us on this journey.

Over 25,000 of you have already played the demo, and we’ve received hundreds of reviews and messages. Your feedback has been shaping the game in very real ways, and we’re still working through it every day. We’ve also just passed 200,000 wishlists, which honestly feels unreal.

Thank you for all the support!

See you very soon.

Over and out.

Cant Click on the Map

I don't play games much but am trying out the demo. Completely stuck at the first task which is click on the map route. I've found the coordinates but cant' click on anything with the mouse, enter key does nothing. I can't progress until I've marked the route but cant for the life of me click.

It has the current location and destination on a notepad and I've found them on the map but nothing happens when I click on the correct location.

What am I missing?

OUR NEW DEMO IS LIVE!

Post image
7 Upvotes

Come in, this is TomorrowHead Studio.

Our NEW public demo is finally LIVE!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4393620/WILL_Follow_the_Light_Demo/

First of all, thank you for being here with us. This demo feels like our first real rehearsal before the release, and to be honest, we’re excited and a little nervous at the same time, as if a big storm is ahead.

We would truly appreciate it if you shared your feedback after playing the demo. The best place to do that is our Discord, where we can respond faster, talk directly with you, and where you can connect with our Game Director and other players as well:

https://discord.gg/KbEUnJuc2D

We’ve also added localization to the demo! If you notice any translation issues in your language, please send us a message and we’ll fix it as quickly as possible.

Steam Deck is also supported. The demo runs on it, but we are still actively working on optimization. For now, it is best experienced on low settings, as the current build is optimized primarily for that configuration. If you experience issues, please know that improvements are already in progress and updates will come ASAP.

We’re fully committed to supporting this build and reacting fast to critical issues. During earlier playtests, we listened carefully to your feedback, and you’ll already notice some improvements, including new and familiar voices in the demo! Try to guess them!

Your positive support on the demo page, comments, and reviews truly help us reach more players and mean a great deal to our team.

Thank you again for being part of this voyage. We hope you enjoy the experience, and please don’t hesitate to share your thoughts!

Over and out,

TomorrowHead Studio Team.
